DEPARTMENT OVERVIEW
The department is engaged in promotion of “Generative AI“ activities (for Sony Music Entertainment, Sony Music Publishing and Sony Corporation of America ) working closely with Sony’s Global Information Systems and Communication (GISC) HQ and Group Federated Governance division.
POSITION SUMMARY
Sony Corporation of America (SCA) is seeking a highly motivated and analytical individual to join our team as a Junior Data Analyst. In this role, you will be responsible for supporting the Business Proof of Concept (POC) program, which supports business adaptation and integration of generative AI technologies within Sony group companies in the U.S. You will also be responsible for analyzing usage data of generative AI platforms to make data-driven decisions and optimizing its performance.
This will be a hybrid role requiring 2-3 days on-site in our New York City office.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
Support organizing the Business POC program, help identifying potential business partners, developing program strategies, and overseeing project execution.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure successful implementation of generative AI solutions.
Support data analysis on usage data of generative AI platforms to identify trends, patterns, and areas for improvement.
Support the team to provide insights and recommendations based on data analysis to drive data-driven decision-making processes.
Communicate and present the results and findings of the data analysis and generation to both technical and non-technical audiences.
Develop and maintain strong relationships with stakeholders.
Stay informed about industry trends, best practices, and emerging technologies related to generative AI.
QUALIFICATIONS FOR POSITION
Your qualifications and experience should include:
Japanese language skill highly preferred.
Bachelor’s Degree (required)
Advanced Excel proficiency
Work effectively with colleagues in different group companies
Familiar with statistical languages such as Python and R
Familiar with data analysis tools such as Power BI and SQL
Proficient in Python and common data analysis and machine learning libraries such as pandas, numpy, scikit-learn, tensorflow, and pytorch.
Experience in working with generative AI models such as GANs, VAEs, and transformers and applying them to various domains and tasks such as image, text, audio, and video generation.
Good analytical and problem-solving skills and ability to handle large and complex datasets.
Good communication and presentation skills and ability to work in a team.

The anticipated annual base salary for this position is $70,000 to $80,000. This range does not include any other compensation components or other benefits that an individual may be eligible for. The actual base salary offered depends on a variety of factors, which may include as applicable, the qualifications of the individual applicant for the position, years of relevant experience, specific and unique skills, level of education attained, certifications or other professional licenses held, and the location in which the applicant lives and/or from which they will be performing the job.
