About the Role

  • The Production Data Analyst is responsible for analyzing and interpreting production data specific to the automotive industry. This role plays a crucial role in optimizing production efficiency, reducing costs, and ensuring high-quality standards are met within the automotive parts manufacturing company.  
  • All aspects involved in program management function from cradle to grave. The Production Data Analyst will collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop data-driven solutions and provide actionable insights to drive operational excellence in the automotive manufacturing process.

Your Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with team members in all functional departments to collect and categorize requirements to develop templates for business KPIs and reporting.  Analyze large amounts of information to discover trends and patterns.  Identify valuable data sources and automate collection processes. Selecting features, building and optimizing classifiers using machine-learning techniques. Enhancing data collection procedures to include information that is relevant for building analytic systems.
  • Processing, cleansing, and verifying the integrity of data used for analysis. Creating automated anomaly detection systems and constant tracking of its performance. Present information using data visualization techniques. Develop interactive dashboard to monitor core KPIs using Power BI or other tools to provide live visual shop floor data.  Responsible for promoting and seeking excellence in all aspects of business. Participates in continuous improvement activities, submits Cost saving improvement suggestions, CIP’s.
  • Supports the implementation of Mafact. Develop and maintain databases, data collection systems, data analytics, and other strategies that optimize statistical efficiency and quality in the automotive production process. Generate reports and visualizations tailored to the needs of the operations and management team to communicate findings and recommendations to stakeholders. Conduct root cause analysis to identify factors impacting production efficiency, quality, and cost and develop solutions and strategies to overcome business challenges.
  • Manage multiple projects and deliverables while treating team members with dignity and respect and in accordance with the Magna Employee’s Charter and Common Values. Ensure that company policies and procedures are adhered to. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop and implement data-driven solutions to improve automotive production processes and reduce waste.
  • Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of implemented solutions in the automotive sector and make adjustments as necessary and implement process improvements.  Stay up-to-date with industry trends and advancements in data analysis techniques and tools. Provide training and support to production teams on data analysis tools and techniques.

Who we are looking for

Your preferred qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in the field of Information Management, natural sciences, Business Analytics, Mathematics,Quantitative Analysis or similar study.
  • Strong administrative skills. Proficient with Microsoft Access, Word, Excel, AS400, Power BI, Oracle AI and SAP. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to translate complex automotive data into actionable insights.
  • Must possess the knowledge to create programs, database tracking sheets, and reporting systems. Must possess an understanding of an ERP system in a manufacturing environment. Must have experience with Sequel Server databases and Relational Database Management. Excellent communication skills with both internal and external sources.
  • Teamwork and strong organizational skills required.
  • Attention to detail. Knowledge of statistical analysis methods and techniques specific to the automotive industry.
