POSITION OVERVIEW

The Investment Data Analyst will join the Global Atlantic Data Governance team located in New York, NY. The candidate must demonstrate excellent verbal and written communication skills and a high level of analytical aptitude, able to take on diverse data analysis and data quality management responsibilities. Key responsibilities will include:

• “Map and Gap” data analysis – identifying and creating mapping documents between Vendors and GA
• Develop and build strong working partnerships across functions, business and technology to align priorities and track progress on execution of strategic projects and initiatives
• Develop broad and detailed understanding of end-to-end data flows and the critical data elements across systems: create, maintain, and socialize metrics of master and reference data
• Maintain and expand Enterprise Data Dictionary, researching and confirming field definitions, investigating missing data and following up to successful resolution
• Investigate, analyze, and resolve production data quality issues; generate ideas and create detailed plans for tactical and strategic solution; Work with development teams, both internal to GA and external data providers, to resolve Investment data quality issues at the source
• Partner with IT teams to integrate Data Quality Management across all data domains
• Be an effective liaison between business users and IT – understand business reporting requirements and translate them into requirements for the IT development team (functional requirements)

QUALIFICATIONS

• Proficiency with database tools & technologies, including SQL, Amazon Redshift, Hive, Tableau, Aqua Data Studio, Mendix, etc.
• Ability to work independently and mastered investigative skills around data metrics are essential

TOP SKILLS

• Expert knowledge of SQL and working knowledge of databases, master and reference data, data lineage
• Ability to read and understand code, write pseudo-code, and create algorithms
• Proficiency creating visual diagrams, data flows, and PowerPoint presentations
• Ability to analyze and document issues, quantify impact, create, and track tasks and subtasks in Jira
• Basic knowledge of Investments and Asset Management domains
• Working knowledge of Microsoft Excel, VBA/macros is a plus
• Ability to clearly communicate with business, data stewards, IT development team and vendors
• Python is a plus

Various jurisdictions have passed pay transparency laws that require companies provide salary ranges for any positions for which they are accepting applications. Global Atlantic has offices in Atlanta, Batesville, Bermuda, Boston, Des Moines, Hartford, Indianapolis, and New York City. The base salary range posted below is inclusive of the lowest cost of living geography to the highest in which we have a Global Atlantic office. 

Global Atlantic’s base salary range is determined through an analysis of similar positions in the external labor market. Base pay is just one component of Global Atlantic’s total compensation package for employees and at times we hire outside the boundaries of the salary range. Other rewards may include annual cash bonuses, long-term incentives (equity), generous benefits (including immediate vesting on employee contributions to a 401(k), as well as a company match on your contributions), and sales incentives.  Actual compensation for all roles will be based upon geographic location, work experience, education, licensure requirements and/or skill level and will be finalized at the time of offer. Compensation for our more senior positions have a larger component of short-term cash bonus and long-term incentives. The base salary range for this role is $74,177.6 to $141,290.
