About the opportunity
We are looking for professionals interested in turning data and information into business insights to help to improve payouts operations and who like to go beyond analyses by actually implementing data-driven solutions and process automations. If you enjoy learning and executing a multitude of different skills, such as analytics, modeling, coding, creating dashboards and reports, and like to build and improve processes, we’ll provide you with plenty of opportunities to do so, while being supported by our team.
Additionally it is expected that you can continuously identify improvement opportunities in order to push projects that solve each necessity in the best cost effective way. All of this should help those within the Payment Operations & Acquirers team but also actively help everyone on the expanded Latam Team.

We also push new projects and services to ensure that our merchants always have the best ways to get financial services.

As our PayOps Analyst, you will help us to:
- Get insights about our daily processes by deep dive in SumUp’s Data
- Create dashboards to follow online operations on Tableau
- Ensure that internal metrics are kept up-to-date
- Look for new opportunities to serve better to our merchants in Latam’s markets and making a real impact through customer journey analysis
- Detect and materialized cost saving and fee optimization opportunities spotted based on effort-impact prioritization approach
- Support our many projects with acquirers and card schemas through analyzing and modeling data in order to test different initiatives.
- Lead the effort to automate the entire payments flow across all markets in Latin America, reducing operational risks and enabling scalability by fully automating the end-to-end payouts
- Deep understanding the complex operational layout of SumUp in Latam, including the transaction processing flow and the respective funds flows
- Identify key stakeholders and develop long-lasting professional relationships with them
- Ensure operational and execution excellence in payout reaching above the market norm indicators as auth rate, payouts failure rate, clearing and settlements ratios, acceleration and schemas funds received on time
- Conduct customer journey analysis to understand pain points of our merchants and propose possible solutions to improve their experience within the ops team
- Think outside the box to create efficient and scalable solutions
You will be a great fit for this position if you:
- Have experience with Excel, SQL and with an object oriented programming language (ideally Python).
- Have experience creating dashboards on BI softwares (ideally Tableau).
- Have between 1 and 2 years of experience working with data analysis/statistics, cleaning, transformation, modeling, reporting and creating dashboard and optimizing/automating processes. Preferably in the fintech industry.
- Have a good English proficiency level
- Have a strong analytical and problem solving mindset.
- Have a testing mindset: you can create hypotheses, test them, and give your own conclusions and recommendations.
- Enjoy building end-to-end solutions to existing and new problems: you will analyze, create models and scripts, present your recommendations to stakeholders and implement them in our operation.
- Thrive in a constantly changing environment, proactive and enthusiastic.
- Being a highly motivated team player, hands-on, focused and striving to learn and improve your skills.
