Data Analytics Co-op

Job DescriptionDuration: 8 monthsPositions Available: 1 Intake Date: Monday, May 6, 2024Application Deadline: Monday, April 1, 2024 (we will be reviewing applications on a rolling basis)Minimum Qualifications: Must currently be enrolled in a recognized and accredited Canadian post-secondary institution throughout the duration of the co-op term. You must also be returning to a post-secondary institution after the co-op term is completed. Depending on the needs and location of the team, you will need to work PST or MDT or relocate to a specific office (Vancouver or site-based) Desired Background: For this position, we are looking for a student who is pursuing a degree in Computer Science, Business Technology, Data Management or equivalent degree with experience and/or courses in Data Analytics. Responsibilities

• Participation in the health and safety programs of Teck to ensure that everyone on site goes home safe and healthy every day
• Assist with analyzing site and business unit performance with the goal of identifying opportunities to elevate operating and financial targets
• Support site Operating Excellence and/or technology transformation teams with reporting and providing data analytics to support projects
• Analyze and report on community engagement through our Trackline system
• Field work may including data collection, project immersion and training
• Support technology and technical projects
• Ideal candidate has an interest and experience with Python and/or Trackline, and ability to troubleshoot 

Qualifications

• Working towards an Undergraduate degree in Computer Science, Business Technology, Data Management or equivalent degree with experience and/or courses in Data Analytics
• Strong written, verbal, and communication skills with a capability to communicate complex ideas to all levels
• Motivated self-starter with the ability to manage numerous projects simultaneously
• Excellent interpersonal skills including the ability to present information and assist with project planning, while communicating clearly to all levels of the organization
• Proficient in Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access)
• Spanish language (written/spoken) a bonus
• Knowledge of D365 CRM, Microsoft Power Platforms (Apps, BI) a bonus
• Comfortable working in a dynamic work environment and able to work on site, and drive on site in various weather conditions

Wage Range: $3,900 - $4,900 CAD / Month
Salary is commensurate with the number of academic semesters and prior co-op experiences completed.
