We help leading life sciences companies and research hospitals remotely capture real-world data from patients. Our projects deploy digital health technologies such as FDA approved activity trackers, wearable vital sign monitors, and other emerging monitoring devices that collect data outside the clinical and laboratory setting. We are developing digital biomarkers that help our customers make faster decisions, often using smaller studies, with technologies that enhance the experience of the patients who participate.

Data Science at Koneksa

Data science at Koneksa covers a number of different disciplines and the team is aligned accordingly:

1. Design, development and validation of novel algorithms with supporting patent applications and peer reviewed publications

2. Development and operation of the Koneksa data pipeline in partnership with with the product and engineering teams

3. Data presentation and statistical analysis to support contracted clinical studies

4. Provision of scientific consulting services in support of contracted clinical studies

5. Novel study, concept and measure development in partnership with the CMO, CSO and other stakeholders

6. “Third line” support of the sales and marketing teams

7. Long range outreach, partnership creation and market building

Job Description

Day to day you lead the data science team, reporting to the CEO. You will play a critical role on the leadership team as we shape the company’s growth and you will communicate closely within and across internal departments (data science, client ops, business development, sales, operations and technology), as well as with external stakeholders. So it’s essential to have excellent communication skills and a superlative ability to create solutions from problems in a consultative manner. Aside from technical competencies, the role also requires attention to detail, initiative, and curiosity which together drive a willingness to find solutions instead of problems.

Responsibilities

• Develop and deliver the data science components of the company strategy

• Lead and grow the data science team with the support of direct reports

• Member of the senior leadership team

• Senior day to day advisor on data science internal and external to Koneksa

• Partner with the CMO on delivery of the Koneksa sponsored clinical pipeline

• Contribute to patent and publication strategy in partnership with CMO, CSO and

  others

Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience leading a data science team - people, product and business

• Published record of designing, validating and implementing novel digital measures

• Advanced degree (Ph.D preferred) in a computational or relevant scientific discipline, and/or substantial track record of publications and scientific contributions

• Be hands on and practical in everything you do - the role requires multidisciplinary execution across science, technology and operations - science is a practical and evidence based undertaking

• Track record of developing and executing data science strategy and plans to support company objectives with defendable return on investment
