Job Description

As a Data Scientist, Lead (NLP), you will be responsible for leading a team of data scientists in the development and implementation of Natural Language Processing (NLP) algorithms and models. You will be working with large datasets of unstructured text data to build systems that can understand and interpret language to extract insights, build predictive models, and enhance user experiences.

Key Responsibilities:

• Manage a team of data scientists to deliver high-quality NLP solutions
• Design and develop NLP algorithms and models to solve business problems
• Analyze and preprocess large datasets of unstructured text data to build robust NLP models
• Evaluate and optimize existing NLP models for accuracy and performance
• Develop and implement data-driven strategies for improving NLP model performance
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate NLP solutions into existing systems and products
• Stay current with the latest developments in NLP and apply them to improve NLP models
• Communicate insights and findings to stakeholders and executives

Qualifications

• Master’s or Ph.D. in Computer Science, Data Science, or a related field
• At least 5 years of experience in NLP or related field
• Proven experience in designing and implementing NLP models using techniques such as sentiment analysis, named entity recognition, topic modeling, and machine translation
• Experience in managing and mentoring data science teams
• Proficiency in programming languages such as Python, R, or Java
• Experience with NLP libraries such as NLTK, spaCy, or Stanford CoreNLP
• Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work in a fast-paced environment
• Excellent communication and presentation skills

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience with deep learning techniques for NLP such as RNNs and Transformers
• Experience with cloud-based NLP platforms such as AWS Comprehend, Google Cloud Natural Language, or Azure Cognitive Services
• Experience with data visualization tools such as Tableau or PowerBI

The starting pay range for this role is $100,000 - $145,000. Actual compensation within the range will be dependent on several factors including but not limited to relevant experience, skills, certifications, training, and location. It is not typical for an individual to be hired at or near the top of the range and determining factors for compensation are considered for each individual circumstance.
