Data Analytics Intern: Consumer Economics

About the role

You will leverage Chime’s unique data, standard economic datasets, and modern statistical and data visualization techniques to better understand Chime’s members and Chime’s overall business performance. Example research areas include: economic analyses of consumer expenditure patterns and financial decision-making, as well as understanding the impact of macroeconomic factors on Chime and its member base.

You will gain valuable professional experience working closely with senior analysts on the Economics and Public Affairs Analytics team and play a role in a critical initiative at Chime. This role is structured as a 3 month engagement. For Colorado based roles: In accordance with applicable law, this role has a starting hourly rate of $42.00. The actual pay may be higher depending on your location, skills, qualifications, and experience. 

In this role, you can expect to:

• Learn and execute best practices in data science and analytics 
• Leverage a combination of Chime’s unique data and standard economic data
• Deliver an end-to-end analytics project that generates novel insights and provides data-driven recommendations on critical business initiatives to Chime leadership

To thrive in this role, you have/are:

• Currently pursuing an advanced degree in Statistics, Economics, or related quantitative field from an accredited college or university
• Coursework and/or hands-on experience with large datasets and modern statistical and data visualization techniques 
• Strong organizational and communication skills
• Passion for consumer FinTech and economics
• Proficient in SQL and either Python or R
