Data Architect

About the role:

We are seeking a seasoned Data Architect. This new role will report to the Head of Development Engineering, you will be responsible for creating the data architecture and successful implementation for our new product lines for business insights. This includes incepting 1010data’s framework aligned with data integrations and metadata, standards for data quality, security of data, storage, transformation, and usage.

What you will take on:

We are looking for a hands-on data architect who is comfortable at the intersection of technology and business in developing 1010data’s enterprise data models, pivotal in development of our new products and solutions. This new role will drive ability to link data models with measurable business value, and think strategically about business, new products, data, security, software, and technical challenges.

• Develop and implement 1010data’s data models and management of data systems.
• Manage end-to-end data models and data architecture
• Integrate technical functionality including data accessibility, accuracy, and security
• Coordinate and collaborate with 1010data’s functional teams, partners, vendors, and stakeholders

What you already have: 

• 7+ years in a data architecture role with deep experience modeling retail, drug, food, consumer packaged goods and knowledge of category hierarchies, inventory management, supply chain, sales insights, exception handling
• Significant experience working in sophisticated data environments in engineering design and architecture, including enterprise warehouses, marts, operational stores, and data lakes
• 2+ years developing semantic abstraction layers and experience with software such as Javascript, PowerBI, Tableau, Microstrategy, and other business intelligence tools
• Working knowledge of how to apply machine learning and artificial intelligence when thinking about data models and architectures
• Ability to define and drive enterprise data domains, domain modeling, taxonomies, concepts, and advanced data technologies in support of our products and customers
• Ability to provide advice and guidance to teams on usage and selection of data solutions
• Working with project teams to ensure that their processes and deliverables align with the data models and data architecture
• Strong team and customer relationship skills
• Exceptional written, verbal, presentation, and interpersonal skills
• Hands-on leader, data visionary, and problem solver with a passion for excellence
• Outstanding performer, persistent and pro-active leader, exceptionally detail oriented, and driven to exceed expectations
• Experience with AWS or Azure cloud service providers
• Bachelor’s degree in mathematics, statistics, data science, computer science or related field
