About the Role

We launched G2 Track to help companies track and manage all of the software and cloud services their teams are paying for. Initial feedback from the tech community has been overwhelmingly positive and Track is already being used by 1,500+ companies with a total of $20 billion USD in annualized spend - including over $1.5 billion in software.

G2 is looking for an inquisitive Senior Data Analyst to help grow G2 Track and contribute to the success of our software buyers. In this role, you’ll work closely with the product and engineering leaders, responsible for ideating and executing on our data roadmap. You’ll work on defining new data insights for the software buyers we serve and for our internal teams. You will combine your data wrangling and statistical skills with your unique experience to answer questions and make recommendations. In addition to leading analytics projects, you will improve our communication of data through dashboards, reports and presentations. 

 In this role, you will:

  • Create insights from the wealth of Track and G2.com data to provide Track customers with unique insights about buying and managing software.
  • Provide descriptive and diagnostic  analysis to inform product decision-making, evaluate performance and make tactical recommendations 
  • Support and guide project based work using analytic tools to produce datasets for analysis
  • Use BI tools to empower end users with timely, accurate and informative data and visualizations 
  • Design dashboards to monitor KPIs and business drivers and ensures all metrics are consistent with business strategy
  • Discuss questions and hypotheses with external and internal customers based on deep data analysis, and as the G2 Data SME, turn them into analysis and insights
  • Lead team discussions and collaborate with technical and non-technical team members to solve business problems
  • Identify opportunities to improve our reporting and additional data management tasks you discover in your analysis

Minimum Qualifications:

  • 3+ years experience in data analysis roles - experience in the software industry is a bonus
  • Experience designing dashboards and enabling self-serve analytics through Business Intelligence tools (Preferably with Looker or Metabase,)
  • Experience with relational database modeling and/or experience in building reporting layers within Business Intelligence tooling
  • Adept with Postgres and SQL databases (Strong understanding for various use cases of different joins within a relational database and CTE performance scripting)
  • Experience in performing QA on complex SQL queries for bugs, optimization and performance.
  • Statistical programming experience with R and/or Python for the purposes of solving business questions
  • Experience working on an agile environment with multiple teams
  • Ability to tell stories with data and convey insights - demonstrated through experience with presentations and cross-functional projects
  • Experience with A/B testing, product analytics or making data driven decisions
  • Desire to make an impact on the business, engage in interesting problems, and craft innovative solutions
