We will count on you to have the following skills and experience:

Expertise in Data Integration and Transformation:

  • Ability to merge and integrate data from multiple sources, such as internal databases, external APIs, spreadsheets, JSON and flat files.

  • Expertise in data transformation techniques, including data cleansing, normalization, aggregation, and de normalization.

  • Proficiency in creating data pipelines and workflows to automate data integration and transformation processes.

  • Assembling large, complex sets of data. Identifying, implementing internal process improvements including optimizing data delivery and automating manual processes   

SQL Skills:

  • Strong command of SQL for querying and manipulating data in relational databases.

  • Knowledge of advanced SQL concepts, such as subqueries, joins, aggregates with joins.

  • Experience in optimizing SQL queries for performance and efficiency.

 Data Structure Understanding:

  • Strong grasp of data modeling concepts and principles.

  • Understanding and working with complex data structures.

  • Ability to analyze and optimize data structures to meet performance and scalability requirements.

Data Visualization:

  • Experience in working on Visualization tools such as Power BI

  • Ability to develop insightful data visualization using the available data

  • Create and manage data models in Power BI

  • Use advanced visualization features of Power BI & proficient with DAX

 Problem-Solving and Analytical Skills:

  • Ability to tackle complex data problems and develop innovative solutions.

  • Strong analytical and critical thinking skills to identify patterns, trends, and insights in large datasets.

  • Capacity to troubleshoot data issues and perform root cause analysis.

Soft Skills:

  • Understanding requirements, excellent communication skills and stakeholder management are crucial skills.

What you need to have: 

  • Bachelor’s degree in any discipline

  • Experience of working with end to end tool development and delivery.

  • At least 4-6 years’ experience in data engineering working on large datasets and databases using SQL/Oracle, Alteryx and exposure to API’s..

  • Advanced Excel skills - highly proficient in using formulae, advanced pivot tables, selecting and creating charts etc. to enable analysis of data

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills to communicate and partner with stakeholders

  • Ability to work with International stakeholders across all levels, understand business objectives and make sure any analysis and findings are aligned to those business objectives

  • Keenness and urgency to learn about the Marsh and the business unit’s business, and insurance industry in general

What makes you stand out?

  • Understanding of insurance industry terminology, data models, and business processes.

  • Knowledge of insurance-specific data requirements, such as policy information, claims data, underwriting data, etc.

  • Ability to examine data critically and identify analyses and synthesize trends out of them

  • Ability to take initiatives to strive for improvement in analytics techniques, process and output.
