Job Description

A Data Scientist is a mid-level professional serving as a member of a team.  This individual will draw business and quality insights from data through analysis, mining, and visualization. They will deliver high-value AI/ML and predictive analytics from data.  The Data Scientist will leverage technical skills and creative thinking to solve problems and make quantitative recommendations to leadership and project team(s). This Individual is responsible for the accuracy, efficiency, quality, and retrieval of processed data and develops understanding of complete product portfolio. The Data Scientist constructs detailed data analytic visualizations to develop models to provide potential operational insight for customers. Serves as a research focal point, evaluating new data sourcing avenues, analyzing data from third party resources for quality, feasibility, and other logistics, and evaluates/facilitates potential new data products that add to our analytic capabilities.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

  • Collaborates with operational teams to understand data needs and priorities.
  • Identifies opportunities for analytics services while operationalizing resulting analytics tools or reports, and discovery of any data product gaps or quality challenges.
  • Assists in staff education on how to utilize data to inform strategy and business decisions.
  • Maintains the highest standards for data ethics, accuracy, collection, and transparency in data collection and analysis methodologies.
  • Interacts with departmental and other staff on matters affecting data and publications flow and makes recommendations for improvement or enhancement to workflow processes to ensure standards in data entry, collection, processing, and delivery.
  • Develops knowledge of key concepts, terminology, and processes of assigned discipline.
  • Builds data visualization products/processes, or workflows that can assist internal or external customers in more efficiently utilizing data product using predictive analytics, AI, and ML processes.
  • Demonstrates knowledge of key concepts and terminology, and ability to perform processes of assigned discipline.
  • Provides auditing of data in alignment with IFS EnR quality model and develop specific actionable remedies for deficiencies.
  • A results-driven attitude, a passion for innovation, and a self-starting, proactive nature.
  • Ability to gain working knowledge of business operations, decision and intelligence systems concepts, database structures, and/or geographic information systems.
  • Excellent verbal and written interpersonal, business, and technical communication skills; strong collaboration.
  • Well organized and efficient with keen judgment, problem-solving and decision-making skills.
  • Ability to develop excellent analytical skills and use of appropriate tools to interrogate, visualize, interpret, and integrate information from multiple sources to execute effectively and efficiently in a dynamic environment

Qualifications

Qualifications Include,

  • Master/bachelor's degree in data science or information Technology/Software Engineering with Statistical background.
  • Minimum of 1-5 years of relevant work experience
  • Able to work / be available a couple hours a day that overlap with US Business Hours is a must.
