As a Data Scientist at Entain, you will have the opportunity to play a crucial role in developing end-to-end solutions to learn more about our customers, personalise their experience with our brands, as well as building tools to aid in safer gambling, fraud and AML initiatives.

Where and how you can work 

This role can be located in Brisbane (HQ) or Melbourne, Australia. We value a flexible work environment and support a hybrid working model, allowing employees to spend two days a week at the office, ensuring work-life balance and individual preferences. 
 
Your day-to-day.  

• Deliver data science projects spanning the entirety of the project lifecycle.
• Develop and implement advanced machine learning algorithms and models to solve complex business problems. 
• Communicate findings, insights and recommendations to technical and non-technical stakeholders. 
• Collaborate internally with the Data Science Team, and externally with teams across Entain to identify requirements, define scope, and prioritise deliverables. 
• Explore and evaluate the vast amounts of data, available technologies and techniques to enhance the accuracy, scalability and efficiency of our models and products. 
• Ensure data privacy and security measures are adhered to in all stages of the project lifecycle. 
• Stay up to date with the latest with the latest research and industry trends, sharing insights with the team and adopting cutting-edge approaches where appropriate.

 
What you’ll bring 

• Demonstrated experience in a Data Science or similar role, or advanced degree in a relevant quantitative field. Experience in Digital Wagering and similar fields is advantageous.
• Strong proficiency in key programming languages (Python & SQL), their tools and libraries (Scikit-learn/PyTorch/TensorFlow), and proficiency with version control systems (Git).
• Experience working with cloud services such as AWS, Databricks and Snowflake is preferred. 
• Knowledge of the underlying mathematical foundations of statistics and machine learning and their application in industry.  
• Self-driven with the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Experience conveying technical concepts to technical and non-technical audiences. 
• Strong collaboration skills, eager to both take on feedback and offer guidance.
