Data Engineer

Avalanche Studios Group is hiring a Data Engineer for our central technology organization, Central Tech. Central Tech is our core technology team and we innovate in areas that raise the boundaries for what open-world sandbox gaming means as well as enhance our players' online experience within our live-service games. 
In this role, you will contribute to the development and optimization of our backend platform, Apex Connect. Apex Connect is an integral part of the Apex Engine suite, a robust set of tools and services driving our live-service games. It has an integral part in engaging millions of active players globally, providing essential services such as user authentication, data tracking, live event management, and advanced matchmaking.
As a Data Engineer, you will be a part of our team consisting of other cloud, backend and frontend engineers. You will have the opportunity to lead our push to become an even more data-driven organization where reliability, optimization and quality are key.

What you'll do

• Share best practices across the organization
• Collaborate with the central backend team on our data infrastructure and our team’s analytics needs
• Gather short and long-term requirements for the roadmap of data-driven applications in our player-services backend and back-office services
• Support the development and configuration of data-driven backend services and back-office services
• Ensure data quality, integrity and availability
• Be one of the trusted points of contact in the organisation for data inquiries

Requirements

• Solid experience working with Data Engineering
• Proficiency in query languages (like SQL) 
• Proficiency in the data parts of Google Cloud
• Proficiency in programming languages (Python and/or Go preferred) 
• Proficiency in transformation tools such as Data Build Tools
• Effective communicator able to express ideas across different teams & disciplines
• Ability to set and deliver on a roadmap within data engineering

Our Stockholm office is situated in Södermalm, the beating heart of the city’s game industry.
