A day in the life of a Computer Vision Engineer
As a mid-level computer vision engineer at Hawk-Eye Innovations, you will play a crucial role in an agile team responsible for delivering cutting-edge ball, player, and object tracking technology across various sports such as tennis, football, and cricket. Your day-to-day tasks will involve solving complex computer vision problems, including multi-view geometry, image processing, and contributing to the development of our artificial intelligence platform. You will work with code prototyped and developed in Visual Studio C++, leveraging GPU processing and CUDA to optimize solutions through experimentation with OpenCV.

Partnering closely with our product team and customers, you will contribute to establishing requirements and developing innovative solutions to complex challenges within sports technology. Your role will entail solving significant problems, collaborating with the wider team, conducting research, and implementing optimal approaches. Agile principles will guide your workflow, with two-week sprints aimed at delivering game-changing technology. Additionally, you will support the configuration and deployment of our products on a global scale.

Key Responsibilities

  • Conducting analysis and optimizations for both CPU and GPU

  • Supporting the development of vision processing algorithms and enhancing our AI platform

  • Contributing to the full life cycle development of projects, collaborating with creatives, product engineers, and the wider development team

  • Implementing new features in our products

  • Reporting progress and issues to the team

  • Demonstrating a desire and ability to innovate, learn, and push boundaries

Skills, Knowledge, and Expertise

  • Developing experience with computer vision algorithms and techniques

  • Proficiency in C++ with a desire to advance your technical skill set

  • Mid-level knowledge of performance optimization for CPU and GPU

  • Experience with networking, concurrency, and operating systems

  • Interest in machine learning and a foundational knowledge of machine learning libraries

  • Basic understanding of Git, Visual Studio, and CUDA
