ABOUT THE ROLE :
The Assistant Manager will lead and supervise teams in charge of data ingestion and content proofing to ensure product delivery and deadlines are fulfilled. This includes developing effective communication strategies for the team and with other groups. This person will be in charge of developing, maintaining, and supervising high-performance, quality-focused teams. Creating a positive culture and motivating the team regularly.
The role will involve the management of team workloads, task assignments, rollout of processes and workflows, people management, and the overall smooth functioning of the operation. This person will be responsible for ensuring the quality, coverage, and reliability of metadata ingested into the Gracenote database products. This person will also develop tools and processes to collect, measure, and report the performance data, and use that data to improve quality and productivity metrics. Ultimately, you should lead by setting a good example and engaging with the Ingest team to achieve the goals set out by the business.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Provide leadership for day-to-day operations and customer projects in accordance with established goals and budgets.
  • Proactively identify and implement efficiencies to improve workflows within the team/department.
  • Manage and distribute workloads for the team/s assigned. Monitor and prioritize team and individual tasks, and delegate accordingly to meet SLAs and deadlines. Inform managers, department seniors, staff, and relevant parties of any deadline changes, new requirements, and client status changes.
  • Actively provide coverage solutions for public holidays, after-hours, and unexpected peak loads if required.
  • Resolve and respond to queries from data sources, clients, and the CX team regarding our products and services.
  • Develop processes and tools to measure, assess, and report the team’s performance.
  • Own responsibility for training staff, and provide feedback and guidance during and after shifts.
  • Maintain effective communication within the team and with external stakeholders.
  • Work on and/or lead internal projects as required and assigned.
  • Manage associates' goals/expectations, performance reviews, appraisals, and improvement. Regularly coaching and counseling team members and providing regular feedback.
  • Maintain staffing by recruiting, screening, selecting, and overseeing the training of candidates.
  • Develop employees for personal growth opportunities.
  • Lead and facilitate initiatives for employee engagement.
  • Other duties as assigned.

REQUIREMENTS & QUALIFICATIONS

  • Any Graduate with one year of team management work experience.
  • The candidate must be proficient in reading, understanding, and writing in English.
  • Overall, excellent communication skills.
  • Ready to work in a 24/7 operation, including evening, night, and weekend shifts.
  • Experience in working with global stakeholders and clients.
  • Capability to evaluate process performance within an organization and to make recommendations for improvements to people managers and process owners.
  • Outstanding interpersonal skills, being able to work with different departments, offices, and roles.
  • High emotional intelligence to work with and support team members of different levels and experiences and the ability to guide them through challenges.
  • Strong decision-making, problem-solving, organizational, analytical, and research skills.
  • The ability to effectively delegate and handle conflicts along with excellent multitasking abilities and attention to detail.
  • Confidence, and an ability to work in a self-directed and fast-paced environment.
  • Technical proficiency (Google Suite, Microsoft Office, etc.)
  • Project management skills are desirable.
  • Knowledge of international TV shows, and the media sector in general, is desirable.
  •  The role is hybrid, so you must live near Nielsen’s office. Hybrid workers are those employees who are working partially from home which is in the same city as the Nielsen office they are employed with and partially from a Nielsen office/site.
