Team members work primarily remotely in the United States, Canada, Ukraine, Germany, or Poland. Certain roles have specific location requirements to facilitate collaboration at a particular Grammarly hub.
All roles have an in-person component: Conditions permitting, teams meet 2–4 weeks every quarter at one of Grammarly’s hubs in San Francisco, Kyiv, New York, Vancouver, and Berlin, or in a workspace in Kraków. This flexible approach gives team members the best of both worlds: plenty of focus time along with in-person collaboration that fosters trust and unlocks creativity.
Grammarly team members in this role must be based in Germany or Poland, and they must be able to collaborate in person 2 weeks per quarter, traveling if necessary to the hub(s) where the team is based.

To achieve our ambitious goals, we’re looking for a talented Data Scientist to join our team and work on our core product features. The ideal candidate will have strong technical expertise and a keen product sense. A Data Scientist in this role would collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop data-driven solutions, driving decisions, strategies, or product improvements based on data collection, analysis, and interpretation. They would also:
- Analyze user behavior data to proactively identify usage patterns and trends of Grammarly genAi features and use them to drive product strategies.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to design and implement experiments and A/B tests to validate hypotheses and measure the impact of product changes.
- Work closely with Product Managers, Engineers, Researchers, and Designers to identify opportunities for data-driven product improvements.
- Communicate complex data analysis and insights to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
Data Scientists at Grammarly are trusted subject matter experts who uncover new insights to inform product and growth strategies. Our Data Scientists work with teams that build our core product features, demonstrate the value of our product to users, and empower people to use Grammarly everywhere they write. We have large datasets and are looking for folks with great technical and analytical skills to break down complex business problems and provide solutions with high visibility and impact for the company.

Your impact
As a Data Scientist, you will:
- Design, build, and monitor critical metrics that reflect Grammarly's core product's health and user engagement. Dive into data to uncover insights that inform product strategy.
- Collaborate with product and engineering to design and analyze experiments. Your insights will guide iterative improvements and feature launches.
- Partner with Data Engineering to refine data collection and analysis practices, ensuring robust and scalable data insights back our decisions.
- Promote data-driven culture across teams, demonstrating how data influences product strategy and user experience enhancements.
- Directly impact our core product's evolution by identifying data-informed opportunities for growth and innovation.
We’re looking for someone who

- Is able to collaborate in person 2 weeks per quarter, traveling when necessary to the hub where the team is based.
- Holds a PhD or master’s degree in a quantitative field preferred.
- Has 6+ years of relevant work experience with a proven track record of applying data science methods that drive impact.
- Is fluent in SQL with strong data exploration and manipulation skills.
- Is proficient in Python, R, or similar programming language.
- Has firm knowledge of experiment design, including translating business questions into experimental frameworks and measurement plans.
- Has a self-starting growth mindset and strong communication skills, translating technical insights into impactful business recommendations.
- Is a creative problem-solver who simplifies problems to their core elements.
