About this Role

“We are seeking a data engineering manager to help grow the figment data team.

The candidate should be an experienced engineering manager with a track record of leading high-performance teams of 5-10 engineers. The candidate should have 8+ years of demonstrated experience with design architecture, ETL, and data warehousing.

This is a full-time remote position, with team members in North America, Europe, and Southeast Asia. If you enjoy solving data-driven solutions and providing real business impact, then this role may be a good fit for you. Ideal candidates are comfortable working in an unstructured environment, dealing with uncertainty, minimal direction, and working across a range of projects.”

What you will be doing

• Managing a team of up to 10 engineers.
• Lead a team of data engineers through the full project life cycle: design, implementation, testing, production, enhancing, & maintaining.
• Hold regular 1:1s with direct reports, focusing on mentorship, career development, and technical goals.
• Work with business units to coordinate defining requirements and the roadmap data team roadmap.
• Provide hands-on guidance and leadership to data engineers; provide mentorship and promote the career development of team members.
• Lead post-mortems and regular retrospectives.
• Provide input for the organization's data engineering goals
• Assess the effectiveness of data sources and data-gathering techniques and improve data flow into the company data warehouse
• Take part in the data engineering interview process.
