Summer Intern – Business Intelligence

 

The goal of our Business Intelligence Analytics team is to address clients’ demand for analytical insights that drive action-based decision-making. This role will provide end-user support to effectively use business intelligence applications to fulfill business objectives. In this role, you will help prepare reports, troubleshoot applications and aid in acquisition related activities such as data conversions.

 

KEY DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Work on BI tool development and information automation – using MS office tools, PowerBI and other tools.
  • Work with operation teams to define needs, identify opportunities and project manage the implementation of new solutions.
  • Work with various teams such PM , FM, and Energy to help them understand dashboard reports and determine root cause of failures.
  • Conduct data analytics reports – outlier and trend reporting, etc.
  • Provide recommendations for process improvement, benchmarking and report automation..
  • Able to develop documentation for training and end user procedures.
  • Training of new processes and tools (includes written work instructions and verbal/WEB based training).
  • Project management – executive update, action item tracking.

 

KNOWLEDGE & SKILLS 

  • Currently working towards College or University degree in Computer Science, Data & Analytics, Engineering, Information Management, or other relevant fields.
  • Knowledge of trends in technology relating to software applications, such as Database tools, web-based data warehouse, MS office tools, PowerBI and others.
  • Experience with Python and Knime an asset.
  • Highly analytical and understand the basic principles of working with complex data sets.
  • Able to leverage insights and opportunities from data and metrics to build strategies and make recommendations.
  • Ability to work with a team towards common goals.
  • Able to manage multiple projects and priorities.
  • Self-starter who is comfortable working with and presenting to all management levels and client.
  • Excellent written and oral communication including ability to communicate with users with various technical backgrounds.
  • Demonstrated analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Attention to details.
  • Ability to work well under pressure.
