About the Team – General Manager/Fan Verticals
Fanatics Commerce is structured to serve fans in six distinct verticals spanning the NFL, NBA, MLB, NHL, NCAA, as well as racing, soccer, and entertainment. Each fan vertical has a General Manager who is assigned to set the vision to best serve fans within that vertical with world class products through our DTC and wholesale distribution channels. The General Manager team is comprised of senior executives working out of Fanatics’ offices across the country to connect the power of Fanatics’ innovation and services in E-Commerce, Wholesale manufacturing, and other commercial services.
About the Role – Director of Analytics, Fan Verticals
The Director of Analytics position is a new role that will support the six GM’s in building scalable and sustained reporting and analytics platforms to drive ROI, profitability, and customer satisfaction. This role will serve as the central support role for each fan vertical and leverage the existing data reporting platforms across Fanatics to create concise, synthesized analytics tools that closely track relevant KPI’s established by the fan vertical GM’s. This position will work closely with Finance, Sales, Digital Marketing, Business Management, and other internal functions to find efficiencies, build scale, and create new innovations that unlock value for our commercial business partners.
Key Responsibilities
- Work closely with Finance, Tech, and other key internal data stakeholders to ensure data integrity, consistency, and best practices.
- Create unified data reporting structures and bring scale and efficiency to the GM’s to allow for high level understanding of overall business trends.
- Build understanding of the KPI’s and OKR’s being developed within each Fan Vertical and create data reporting platforms that can support those objectives as efficiently as possible.
- Create and scale best practices from across the organization so each horizontal function supporting the GM position is continually evolving and improving.
- Support the creation of annual financial plans, including budgets, projections, project performance versus financial commitments to partners, performance versus pro formas, as well as driving the Long Range Planning process in close coordination with Finance.
- Perform ad hoc financial reporting and analysis as requested by GM’s.
- Support and manage other special projects needed to support the team.
Education and Experience Requirements
- 5+ years of experience working in finance, budgeting, and/or data analytics in a fast-paced environment.
- Experience working in sports, media, e-commerce, sporting goods/apparel, or retailing is preferred.
- Excellent analytical and financial forecasting skills with strong MS Excel skills, including data manipulation, data visualization, and aggregation and filtering of data from disparate sources.
- Understanding of key reporting tools and platforms, including: Tableau, MicroStrategy, Salesforce (Fantelligence), BrandBI, Oracle, as well as SQL and Excel
- High attention to detail; must have high accountability and ownership of his/her own work
- Ability to multitask while managing and prioritizing multiple deadlines
- A self-motivated individual and good team player; must be able to build bridges across multiple internal stakeholders.
- Comfortable engaging with major client decision-makers, as well as senior executives and leaders
- Ability to learn, adapt, and thrive in a fast-paced environment
- Bachelor’s degree in finance, accounting, data analytics, or equivalent professional experience
