About the team

Dialpad’s Data Analysts bring together product expertise and advanced analytics skills to enable product teams to identify improvement opportunities that translate into new features and experiments.  In this role, you’ll combine research, data science, data storytelling and experimental design (i.e A/B Testing) to create product insights that contribute to the product team’s decision making process.

Dialpad’s Product Analytics team plays an essential role in increasing awareness of the product features and user behavior that correlate with product adoption, product stickiness and trial conversions. This team collaborates closely with data engineers, product managers, product engineers, product designers, business leaders and marketing to constantly evolve Dialpad’s products.

Your role

The Director of Analytics has a primary responsibility of leading the data analytics and data warehousing departments, overseeing all activities and ensuring alignment with the business’s vision and objectives. The Director of Analytics aligns and directs the management, development, and integration of data analytics and business intelligence necessary for supporting the mission, vision strategies, objectives, and goals of business.

This is the most prominent role of the Director Analytics and in this position this person oversees and monitors all activities of the data analytics and data warehousing departments and personnel. The Director of Analytics provides thought leadership and acts as a subject matter expert in the designing and recommending of appropriate analytical approaches and methodology in addressing key issues within the business. The Director of Analytics leads the data analytics and data warehousing teams in research, development, and implementation of appropriate data systems (with best practices) that lead to improved business performance and achievement of overall business goals.

The Director of Analytics is also responsible for driving departmental culture and promoting data-driven decision-making, consumer-driven analytics, marketing, and investment planning across the business. The Director of Analytics additionally builds a profile of data and analytics by providing clear data and analytics stories and spreading them across the business. 

This position reports to our SVP, FP&A, Treasury, and Data  and has the opportunity to be based in our Buenos Aires or US Offices.

What you’ll do 

  • Lead and manage a team of data analysts, providing guidance, direction, and support in their day-to-day activities.
  • Develop and implement a comprehensive analytics strategy to support the organization's business objectives.
  • Collect and analyze data from various sources, including internal systems, third-party tools, and market research, to identify trends, patterns, and opportunities.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define key performance indicators (KPIs) and develop dashboards and reports to track and measure performance against these metrics.
  • Provide actionable insights and recommendations to stakeholders based on data analysis, helping them make informed decisions and drive business growth.
  • Stay updated with the latest industry trends and advancements in analytics tools and technologies, and evaluate their potential to improve our data analysis capabilities.
  • Drive data governance initiatives by establishing data quality standards, ensuring data accuracy, and implementing data security measures.
  • Collaborate with IT teams to ensure data infrastructure, systems, and tools are optimized to support efficient data collection, storage, and analysis.
  • Effectively communicate complex analytical findings and insights to both technical and non-technical stakeholders through presentations, reports, and visualizations.
  • Foster a culture of data-driven decision making within the organization, promoting the use of analytics to drive continuous improvement and innovation.

Skills you’ll bring

  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant field such as Mathematics, Statistics, Economics, or Computer Science. A Master's degree is preferred.
  • Minimum of 7 years of experience in analytics or a related field, with at least 5 years in a leadership or managerial role.
  • Ability to effectively deliver and present  impactful insights and recommendations based on data analysis.
  • Demonstrated experience in developing and implementing analytics strategies in a corporate environment.
  • Strong understanding of and implementation of data governance principles and practices.
  • Familiarity with data visualization best practices and tools.
  • Experience working with large datasets and using statistical analysis techniques.
  • Certification in relevant analytics tools or methodologies is a plus.
  • Enjoy both team management and technical leadership
  • Strong organizational skills and planning prowess, with excellent attention to detail.

California Salary Range$210,100—$259,567 USD
