Join our team:

Genesys is looking for an experienced, highly driven Sr. Data Analyst to join our Enterprise Data and Analytics team.  Our vision is to empower Genesys to leverage data to drive better customer and business outcomes. This is a unique position which requires deep business and technical expertise coupled with the ability to solve data problems creatively and effectively.

As a Sr. Data Analyst, you will go deep into one or more areas of our business and partner with those stakeholders to assess business outcome requirements, analyze their data insights needs and challenges, identify process improvement and automation opportunities, propose business and system architectures, initiate proofs of concept efforts for specific outcomes and capabilities, develop a backlog of epics and stories, and work closely with the development teams to deliver analytical product(s).

The role of a Sr. Data Analyst will have responsibility for providing business, functional, and technical expertise in identifying, evaluating, and implementing process, data, and functional solutions through data insights that support business outcomes that enable our partners to achieve their strategic objectives and grow the business.

What you'll get to do:

The primary responsibilities for this role include (but are not limited to):

  • Work in an agile environment, partnering with a team of technologists, constantly delivering and iterating on analytical solutions.
  • Interface with our Data Consumers becoming a trusted partner, delivering complete data solutions while prioritizing and providing status updates to the team commitments to those business partners as well as Leadership.
  • Partner with Data Engineering to enable the right data needed for insights as well as working to establish data quality analytics including data profiling.
  • Own the design, development, and maintenance of Tableau dashboards and analytics that drive key business decisions.
  • Use your excellent verbal and written communication skills, including the ability to effectively collaborate with technical(engineering) and non-technical (business)people, to tease out and document business requirements and outcomes.
     

Your experience should include:

  • 5+ years of experience in, analytics, business intelligence, data architecture, including data modeling (logical & physical), data visualization, data warehousing, and analytical enablement, including data preparation and basic data transformations.
  • 5+ years of business experience, with demonstrated project management, product management or managerial skills.
  • 5+ years of experience reviewing and writing technical & business requirements in relation to insights, effective data visualization, data management, metrics/KPIs or software development projects.  
  • 5+ years of experience in supporting marketing, finance, operational, or management data and insights as a data analyst with a keen ability to quickly evaluate and understand a diverse set of data to rapidly add value with data at Genesys.
  • Experience in writing and understanding complex SQL queries to solve different business analytical problems.
  • Track record of delivering reliable and performant Tableau dashboards.
  • Strong knowledge of project & program management techniques and tools as well as product owner experience (Agile/Scrum Master/Product Owner certification preferred, experience with Atlassian Suite: Jira, Compass, etc. preferred).
  • Strong empathy for customers and the ability to think and design from the customers perspective with a strong ability to find the 80/20 solution when necessary.
  • Excellent communication (verbal and written) and interpersonal skills and an ability to effectively communicate with both business and technical teams.

Desirable Qualifications Skills:

  • Bachelor’s degree in the field of business, computer science or similar area or equivalent work experience
  • Salesforce or other CRM experience
  • PMP or equivalent
