Job Description
Our Customer is a leading global provider of cutting-edge payments technology solutions, dedicated to shaping the future of financial transactions worldwide. We are seeking a Senior Data Engineer Developer to join Sales and Client Services & Experience team to assist us in Risk Products. The Sales and Client Services & Experience Team supports business users in Sales, Client Services and Global Client Care in providing access to data and insights using Data Engineering, Data Science, AI/ML. This position is ideal for a Sr. Data Engineer who is passionate about helping business take decisions based on data by building, enabling, and scaling data engineering pipelines that are robust, capable of handling increasing workloads with minimal manual touch points.
Key responsibilities
- Work with product owners, business stakeholders and internal teams to understand business requirements and desired business outcomes.
- Assist in scoping and designing analytic data assets, implementing modelled attributes, and contributing to brainstorming sessions.
- Build and maintain a robust data engineering process to develop and implement self-serve data and tools for product management teams and data scientists.
- Find opportunities to create, automate and scale repeatable analyses or build self-service tools for business users.
- Execute data engineering projects ranging from small to large either individually or as part of a project team.
- Set the benchmark in the team for good data engineering practices and assist leads and architects in solution design.
- Exhibit a passion for optimizing existing solutions and making incremental improvements.
- This is a hybrid work opportunity, requiring attendance at the customer's office in Warsaw twice a week for team relationship-building purposes.
Due to the nature of our work in the financial market, candidates will be subject to detailed background screening including education, employment history, and criminal record.
Qualifications
- 4 or more years of relevant work experience with a Bachelor’s Degree or 6 or more relevant years of experience with an Advanced Degree (e.g. Masters, MBA, MD).
- Minimum of 3 years’ experience in building data engineering pipelines.
- Design and coding skills with Big Data technologies like Hadoop, Spark, Hive and Map reduce. Mastery in Pyspark or Scala.
- Experience with any one ETL tool like Informatica, SSIS, Pentaho or Azure Data Factory.
- Knowledge of successful design, and development of data driven real time and batch systems.
- Experience in data warehousing and an expert in any one of the RDBMS like SQL Server, Oracle, etc.
- Nice to have reporting skills on PowerBI/Tableau/QlikView.
- Strong understanding of cloud architecture and service offerings including compute, storage, databases, networking, AI, and ML.
- Passionate about delivering zero defect code that meets or exceeds the proposed defect SLA and have high sense of accountability for quality and timelines on deliverables.
- Experience developing as part of Agile/Scrum team is preferred.

- Develop, design and manage advanced reports, dashboards, and complex data models in PowerBI.
- Collaborate with stakeholders across the organization to understand their data visualization needs and provide solutions.
- Implement row-level security on data and understand application security layer models in PowerBI.
- Create visualizations and reports for requested projects.
- Ensure data quality throughout all stages of acquisition and processing, including data cleaning, normalization, and transformation.
- Continually monitor and evaluate the performance of the data models.
- Provide data-driven insights and recommendations to stakeholders.
- Maintain clear and coherent communication, both verbal and written, to understand data needs and report results.
