Postion Overview

Join our dynamic engineering and construction company as a Data Analytics Associate, playing a pivotal role in driving strategic projects within the finance organization. Reporting to the Manager of Strategic Projects, you will utilize your expertise in data analysis, change management, and technology solutions to enhance internal control monitoring, process optimization and data insights. This Hybrid position based out of our Reston headquarter, offers the opportunity to collaborate with cross-functional teams across all of Bechtel’s Global Business Units.

 

Position Summary

As a Data and Analytics Associate, you will work closely with the Manager of Strategic Project to identify process opportunities, implement technology solutions, and facilitate change management initiatives. Your role will involve leveraging data analytics tools, such as SQL, Oracle BI Publisher and Power BI to provide insights and support decision making. Additionally, you will collaborate with business stakeholders to drive continuous improvement and ensure alignment with organizational goals. This role will require both creative and collaborative work across various stakeholders within the organization.

 

Responsibilities 

  • Build rich interactive visualization that are intuitive, easy to use through Power BI.
  • Design and delivery end-user training materials; provide technical support as necessary.
  • Support documentation of E2E process, identifying process improvements opportunities and develop solutions to enhance efficiency.
  • Assist in the implementation of technology solutions for internal control monitoring and compliance.
  • Improve data reliability, quality and efficiency by creating best practices.
  • Collaborate with business stakeholders to understand requirements and deliver solutions.
  • Facilitate change management initiatives to drive adoption of new processes and technologies.  

Qualifications and Skills

Basic Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Business Analytics, or related field.

Additional Qualifications

  • Proficiency in SQL for data querying and manipulation.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Demonstrates understanding of change management principles
  • Experience with Power BI
  • Self-starter, proactive, strategic thinker, and ability to align research with business needs
  • Excellent attention to detail and the capability to manage complex projects across a broad range of functions.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Familiar with Six Sigma, Lean methodologies
  • Previous experience in the engineering or construction industry
  • Knowledge of internal control frameworks and compliance standards
  • Advanced proficiency in data analytics and visualization tools
  • Understanding of finance and accounting principles
  • Proven experience developing and implementing processes and creating efficiencies.
