The Company

Job Purpose

As a Technical Specialist, you will work as part of a skilled team to deploy, troubleshoot, maintain, and support the FrontRunner Autonomous Haulage System (AHS), allowing our clients to improve their mining operations with Komatsu’s self-driving heavy haul trucks.

The AHS (Autonomous Haulage System) product is at the forefront of mining technology as one of the most cost-effective solutions for fleet management, delivering unrivaled safety and fleet optimization in complex mining environments without the requirement of a truck operator. Modular currently supports successful AHS operations in Chile, Australia, Canada, Brazil and Sweden demonstrating Modular's ability to deliver high value, cutting edge solutions and outstanding support.

Travel Requirements

Job Duties and Responsibilities

• Providing technical support to the AHS Supervisory System, acting as 1st and 2nd Level support, and using customer ticketing portal, supporting tools, testing and escalation processes;
• Resolve and diagnose root causes of AHS system issues within SLA timelines (Service Level Agreement);
• Maintain ongoing communication with the 3rd level when necessary to fully understand issues and improve overall knowledge of the AHS;
• Capture and document improvement opportunities, identifying bugs and material for internal training through report creation, manuals, presentations, process maps, etc.;
• Support and assist the customer before, during, and after system implementations in new mines, updates, and new functionalities;
• Answering calls on call;
• Availability for travel.

Required Skills

- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Engineering, or another relevant technology degree;

- High-level analytical skills for general problem-solving and product-related issues;

- Proficiency in one programming language;

- Experience in customer service and technical support for systems;

- Experience in operating systems (Windows, Linux);

- Experience in Microsoft SQL and/or MySQL databases;

- Experience in computer networks;

- English for written and verbal communication, including meetings with customers, suppliers, and partners in multiple countries.

Desired Skills

- Operational mining experience;

- Experience in Dispatch® or other fleet management system at an operational and/or technical level.

- Experience in communication networks (2.4 GHz Wi-Fi and LTE networks);

- Experience in virtualization solutions (i.e. VMWare);
