Job Description

The Data Analyst understands the drivers of business at Informa and provides data-driven recommendations. Works with business stakeholders to analyze and provision the data requirements. It includes having strong analytical skills and ability to collect and analyze large data sets using statistical techniques, provide on-going reports, and help with timely delivery of the data requirements. The Data Analyst also identifies, evaluates, and documents potential data sources & improvements in support of project requirements within the assigned departments in the business. 

Responsibilities Include:  

  • Work collaboratively with stakeholders, business partners, product, and delivery teams to prioritize business and data needs. 

  • Performing data analysis to assess quality and meaning of data, and interpret trends or patterns in complex data sets, perform necessary data validations. 

  • Have hands on ability to deep dive into the data ecosystem and perform investigative and analytical operations. 

  • Document the source to target mapping rules, data observations and business requirements in Confluence and/or Jira. 

  • Guide the engineering team to implement and validate the data aspects of the projects. 

  • Make functional and business sense from the data observations and present them back to all levels of stakeholders. 

  • Act as a conduit between Business teams, Data Engineering team and Project Management function. 

  • Carry out investigative and exploratory data analysis aligned to project and business goals. 

  • Understanding of reference data elements within data sets, responsible for establishing appreciation and adherence to the principles of data quality management, including metadata, lineage, and business definitions 

  • Proactively identify gaps in data (quality, integrity) and support with data access governance 

  • Deliver in a fast-paced Agile project methodology 

  • Locate and define new process improvement and automation opportunities 

  • Provide relational database expertise to construct and execute SQL queries to be used in data analysis activities  

  • Work in a global cross matrixed environment across multiple time zones with remote business users 

  • Work with multiple business teams and stakeholders in parallel  

Qualifications

  • A proactive self-organized partner who can prioritize work and deliver the right service to stakeholders 

  • Passion for data analytics and ability to derive complex insights 

  • Proven experience with data discovery across all stages – collection, cleaning, preparation, sharing and insights.  

  • Strong knowledge of and experience with MS Excel and pivot tables, SQL, ETL/ELTs and data analysis skills​ 

  • Knowledge of using Postman tool and API’s 

  • Prior experience with Data visualization e.g., Power BI, Looker, Domo​ 

  • Technical proficiency regarding database design development, relational/non-structured data models. Should have working knowledge of AWS Redshift, PostgreSQL 

  • Customer data platform experience is a definite plus 

  • Experience working with JIRA is a must have 

  • Familiarity with Confluence and Service Now 

  • Understanding of digital marketing and media techniques​ 

  • Self-organized to prioritize work and deliver the right service to stakeholders
