Data Engineer-Octopus

Robusta is currently seeking a talented Data Engineer to join Octopus, our business unit at Robusta Technology Group that matches tech talents with remote or onsite opportunities worldwide. As a Data Engineer, you will be responsible for designing, building, and maintaining scalable and efficient data pipelines and infrastructure. You will be working alongside a cross-functional team of developers and business analysts to deliver cutting-edge data solutions for our partner in Canada. You will be under Robusta Technology Group yet working directly with our partner in Canada.

Responsibilities

• Design and develop ETL processes to extract, transform, and load data from various sources into a data warehouse.
• Build, optimize, and maintain data pipelines and infrastructure to support data analysis and reporting.
• Collaborate with data scientists and analysts to understand data requirements and design data models and schemas for analytical purposes.
• Implement and maintain data security and privacy measures to ensure compliance with industry regulations.
• Perform data cleansing, validation, and quality checks to ensure data accuracy and consistency.
• Optimize query performance and troubleshoot data issues as needed.
• Stay up-to-date with the latest data engineering technologies and tools, and recommend improvements to existing systems and processes.

Requirements

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field.
• Minimum of 3 years of experience as a Data Engineer or in a similar role.
• Strong knowledge of and experience with SQL and relational databases.
• Experience with cloud technologies such as Azure is a must.
• Understanding of data modeling and database design principles.
• Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
• English Language Proficiency is a must.
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
