Analytics Engineer

As an Analytics Engineer in the Core Data team, you will play a critical role in empowering data-driven decision making across the company by designing, developing, and maintaining data marts aligned with the Data Mesh architecture.

Key relationships:

• Collaborate with different domain teams to understand their data requirements and translate them into actionable data mart designs.
• Work closely with data/system analysts, data engineers, and other data consumers to understand their use cases and ensure data marts deliver the necessary insights.
• Collaborate with data architects to define and adhere to data modeling standards and best practices within the Data Mesh architecture.

Responsibilities:

• Design, develop, and maintain data marts for various business domains using Snowflake as the data warehouse.
• Utilize dbt for data transformation tasks, ensuring data quality, consistency, and reusability.
• Develop and implement Airflow workflows to automate data pipelines and data mart refreshes within the Data Mesh framework.
• Collaborate with data engineers and analysts to implement data governance processes and maintain data quality standards.
• Monitor data pipelines and data marts for performance and identify potential issues.
• Document data marts, explaining the business context for data transformations, transformation logic, and usage guidelines.
• Stay up-to-date on emerging trends and best practices in data warehousing and the Data Mesh architecture.

Requirements

• Strong understanding of SQL and data modeling concepts.
• Problem-solving skills and a strong analytical mind.
• Passion for data and a desire to learn new technologies.
• Proficiency in data transformation tools like dbt or similar technologies.
• Experience with data orchestration tools like Airflow.
• Ability to independently manage multiple projects and meet deadlines.
• Experience working within a Data Mesh architecture.
