Atlassian is continuing to hire with all interviewing and on-boarding done virtually due to COVID-19. All new and existing Atlassians will continue to work from home until it’s safe to return to our offices. When our offices re-open, we will provide the choice to work from home or return to work in an office unless a job requirement makes it necessary for a particular role to be performed at an Atlassian office.
Do you get excited by the challenge of scaling a fast-growing company by powering it with data? Are you intrigued by the ever-evolving landscape of workplace collaboration products?
Using your eye for business and creative problem solving, you will build data products and generate insights that will allow our business and product leaders to make better-informed decisions. We’re growing fast, so there’ll be tons of opportunities for you to make an impact and take charge of the direction of your work.
Product Analytics at Atlassian is multidisciplinary. The flawless teammate is someone who has the skills to surface insights quickly, and communicate those insights in a way that persuades action by senior leaders, product managers, designers, marketers and engineers. You'll use SQL, R, and/or Python often, but you won't be at your desk all day. Part of your job is to improve the data literacy of your product team, teaching people when, where, and how to harness the data available.
You’ll be working within our JSM Product Analytics team collaborating primarily with the Jira Service Management (Sydney, Bangalore and Ankara) teams. These teams are working to build and develop Atlassian products to unleash the potential of Customer’s DevOps and ITSM teams!!

On your first day, we'll expect you to have:

  • Proven experience applying your analytics skills to projects which have had a positive impact to strategic and product roadmap decisions
  • Strong ability to communicate. Explaining complex concepts to diverse audiences, crafting compelling stories, and managing multiple stakeholders
  • Expertise and experience in working with very large data sets in SQL
  • Expertise and experience in modelling and visualisation in another data programming language (Python, R, etc.)
  • Proficiency in one or more analytics and visualisation tools (e.g., Tableau, Mode, Power BI)
  • Expertise in foundational statistics (data distributions, inferential statistics, probability etc.) and modelling (regression, classification, clustering etc.)

It's great, not required, if you have:

  • Familiarity with event-based analytics, data instrumentation and logging
  • Experience in breaking down complex problems using MECE frameworks
  • Experience in designing and analysing experiments that drive key decisions
  • Experience working in a global environment with remote teams
  • Knowledge of and experience with widely-used workplace collaboration tools and integrations between those tools
  • An understanding of the SaaS development, business model and metrics
  • Are an active member of the broader analytics and data science community
