Comprised of engineers, analysts, data scientists, media experts and marketing strategists, 605 forges new paths using groundbreaking innovations that set industry standards for audience targeting and measurement.

The 605 Summer 2023 Internship Program is a ten week program, running from June 5th to August 11th. Interns for this program will be based out of our Syosset, NY office and will be expected to be in the office at least 2 days per week.

The Data Management Intern provides day-to-day operational support for data quality monitoring, and the management of core 605 reference data. This intern will be responsible for maintaining and ensuring the completeness and accuracy of key dictionaries and metadata within 605, including station/network mappings and data reference tables. This role will be responsible for investigating data associated with Television Network and Station relationships and related information, as assigned by their Manager. This individual will also be responsible for providing operational support which includes (but is not limited to) identifying data issues, tracking issue resolution, daily monitoring and reporting on data quality, and implementing quality assurance best practices across the core 605 metadata and dictionaries.

You will join a dynamic and fast-paced environment and work with cross-functional teams to deliver products that deliver the company’s vision and strategy.

Educational Components:

  • First-hand exposure to workings of TV industry from experienced professionals.
  • Hands-on data analytic experience using tools such as Databricks and SQL.
  • Training in working with SQL and database best practices.
  • Opportunity to hone verbal and visual communication skills in a business setting.


Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in progress or completed
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication
  • Proficiency in analytical thinking
  • Collaborative team skills
  • Is conscientious about detail, thorough in completing tasks, and intellectually creative in solving technical challenges
  • Strong competence in Microsoft Office tools including Excel, Word and PowerPoint

Preferred Skills

  • Working knowledge of SQL, Data Bricks.
  • Working knowledge of tableau.
  • Knowledge of the US television industry
  • Knowledge of the advertising industry
  • Proficiency in Quality Assurance tools such as Test Rails or HP ALM/Quality Center.
  • Knowledge and experience in Agile/SCRUM environments along with associated tools including JIRA and Confluence.

Additional Notes

  • This role will be expected to work 35–40 hours per week this summer. Ideal candidates would be able to continue on in a part-time role in the fall
