About the Role 

As a Data Scientist at JustAnswer, you will work on high-impact analytics initiatives with the goal of rapidly growing the business and creating delightful, high-quality customer experience. Your role will involve designing algorithms and ML models that will help to increase the quality of our product. You will contribute to developing ideas that guide product strategies and drive measurable business impact through the application of ML methods. Utilizing your strong communication skills, you will actively participate in strategic discussions and work cross-functionally to analyze consumer needs and make data-driven recommendations. 

What You’ll Do 

• Build ML models to improve the quality of our product (predictive modeling, categorization) 
• Maintain and improve the existing ML models (retraining, fixing, adding new features) 
• Improve current algorithms that we use to match customer and Expert 
• Investigate the historical data to find opportunities for ML models usage 
• Track business metrics to measure business impact from ML models 
• Use NLP to assess the quality of Expert answers 
• Implement industry standards in A/B Testing and Hypothesis Testing 
• Evaluating the statistical methods and procedures used to obtain data to ensure validity, applicability, efficiency, and accuracy of analysis 

What We’re Looking for 

• Masters/Ph.D in Statistics/Mathematics/Advanced Data Science 
• Experience in e-commerce/customer experience products (3+ years - for Middle and 5+ years - for Senior Specialist)
• Competent in data analysis and building ML models in Python 
• Experience with SQL with a strong ability to write complex queries to extract information and arrive at an answer 
• Expertise in Descriptive Statistical Analysis, Inferential Statistical Analysis 
• Strong experience in setting up and driving A/B Testing or Hypothesis Testing and analyzing the results 
• Experience with advanced statistics  
• Ability to translate analysis results into business recommendations, and excellent written and confident verbal communication skills 
• Strong written and oral communication skills; ability to communicate effectively with all levels of management and partners from a variety of business functions 
• At least upper-intermediate English
