Data Analyst

*This position works out of our Headquarters in Boston, MA (this role is not a virtual position)

Analyst, Strategic Operations Finance 

Do you like distilling complex problems into actionable solutions? Are you able to quantify costs, understand their business impact, and communicate the tradeoffs? Do you want to use data to identify key opportunities and drive multi-million dollar investment decisions for Wayfair’s supply chain business? If so, then you would be a perfect fit for the Positioning team within Strategic Operations Finance (SOF).

Wayfair is seeking an Analyst to join the Strategic Operations Finance (SOF) network team within its rapidly growing logistics arm - CastleGate. The goal of the Positioning SOF team is to provide financial support to the Network & Operations teams as we look to refine our inventory distribution & warehouse footprint across North America. This role will work cross-functionally with our stakeholders to ensure that we are accurately modeling the financial implications and aggregate impact of our positioning operations. Analysts on our team will have direct exposure to senior leadership through various key projects and initiatives. The ideal candidate will be self-motivated, hard-working, and able to provide concise solutions to complex problems.  

What you’ll do:

• Build financial models to understand long term cash flow impact and ROI on positioning decisions 
• Create opportunity cost analyses to identify optimal course of action
• Draft business proposals for tactical recommendations
• Present findings to operations leaders
• Work across various teams to develop new processes to streamline future decision making

What you’ll need:

• Bachelor's degree and at least 1 year of experience in finance, operations, or a strategy/consulting role
• Ability to thrive in a high growth and entrepreneurial environment where juggling multiple priorities is a must
• Experience working with large datasets and passionate about solving complex business problems, even when organized and/or complete information is not available
• Ability to work cooperatively and collaboratively with stakeholders
• Proven track record of taking ownership and driving results
• Excel modeling capability: experience in SQL/GBQ is a plus
