The Role

Key Responsibilities

• This role is to work on our Analytics and Data platforms - to enhance our suite of analytic and data products and to integrate it into our clients’ system landscapes. Building tables and visualisations to enhance standard business questions and performing ad-hoc data analysis.
• Visualisation is a core element of the role and you’ll need to be proficient in one of the main industry Data Visualisation tools. We predominantly use Tableau and PowerBI. You’ll be taking requirements and working with our clients to turn these into meaningful, usable dashboards. You’ll need to have experience in data analysis and data mapping to interpret the requirements, document them and agree with our clients and internal teams.
• You will also be required to work with our Google BigQuery platform to develop data flows and data marts using SQL, against which our visualisations will run. You will therefore need to understand the business and data requirements against which to build the views and be comfortable writing SQL.
• You’ll perform ad-hoc data analysis to answer specific customer questions, creating hypotheses, proving or disproving them and presenting results clearly, often to senior stakeholders.
• You’ll work with the wider CDO, Engineering & Consulting teams and wider business to develop the features and functionality required for expanding and optimising the data and integration elements of our Xfuze and Analytic platforms.
• We work in an agile manner so you’ll need to take full part in the agile process, writing stories and working with the backlog in Jira. Attending agile ceremonies and working with the Project and Business teams to ensure that any blockers are owned and cleared providing any relevant escalations path for resolution. Provide regular feedback to all stakeholders and communicating any delays
• Where relevant you’ll provide industry insight, innovation and relevant expertise to ensure our Analytical products remains commercially competitive and efficient whilst optimising the brand and customer experience

Knowledge & Experience

• You’ll be required to engage directly with our clients, so a high energetic and dynamic personality is required with excellent written and verbal communication skills at all levels, both technical and non-technical
• Experience of developing high quality SQL is essential, particularly with a good understanding of how to build views, materialisations and data flow scripts within a Data Lake / Data Warehouse environment against large scale, high volume, data-centric, applications and infrastructure.
• Previous data modelling and development experience within Data Warehouses or Data Lakes would be essential, particularly within BigData. A strong conceptual understanding of data modelling is essential.
• Our stack is predominantly Google BigQuery and Tableau / PowerBI. Relevant experience in equivalent platforms will be taken into consideration but full training will be given.
• You must have strong Business Intelligence, visualisation and dashboard experience in one of the leading industry tools. Any experience of Tool Administration role is a bonus.
• The developer will be an integral part of the Insights team and will be working mostly remotely. There may be some requirements to travel to the U.K, but this won’t be essential.
• The position will be primarily remote based although some clients will require an onsite presence from time to time. We will always discuss the travel requirements with you prior to taking on a new client
