As a Data Engineer working in the data team for IO Global’s new lightwallet, Lace, you will be responsible for the design, creation, health, and performance of the data pipelines for reporting, analytics and machine learning. This role will be working on building out the data capability for a key product at the earliest stages of launch and would suit a self-starter who is passionate about defining and building out a modern data stack.

Your mission

  • Supporting the product data scientist, product owners and other internal stakeholders in the provision of quality data
  • Owning automated data ingestion and integration from a variety of internal and external sources
  • Developing and maintaining a data warehouse
  • Collaborating internally to identify and continuously integrate useful datasets
  • Providing thought leadership and suggestions for improvement on tooling, process and data quality
  • Developing mechanisms for data quality and governance
  • Cataloging data assets
  • Ad-hoc dashboard development.

Requirements

Your expertise

  • Bachelor's degree or higher in a quantitative fields such as Computer Science, Data Science, Mathematics, Statistics or Engineering
  • 3+ years of experience in one or a mix of roles with titles like Data Engineer, Software Engineer, Data Analyst or Business Intelligence Developer
  • 3+ years of experience in ETL development, data warehousing and data modeling
  • 3+ years of writing high-quality SQL and Python code
  • Experience working in a cloud-based environment such as GCP, Azure or AWS
  • Experience with dashboarding tools like Tableau, Looker or Power BI
  • Experience working with product analytics data from tools like Google Analytics, Amplitude or Matamo
  • Good knowledge of ingestion tools, APIs, scraping and various types of structured and unstructured data
  • Interest in blockchain and cryptocurrency.

Desirable

  • Analytics engineering experience with dbt
  • Knowledge of Spark, DataBricks and Airflow
  • Startup experience.
