THE OPPORTUNITYWe are hiring a Staff Data Analyst to our Global Analytics team in New York!
As a member of the ever-growing Global Analytics team at Gympass, you’ll play a critical role in maintaining a data-focused culture and helping drive unique strategic initiatives. In this highly malleable role, you will be responsible for the development and ongoing data operation of Gympass’ growth strategy, products, technologies, tools, and technical solutions. This includes (but is not limited to) generating and reviewing reports, building data sets, direct communication with analytics partners, defining data elements and business rules in data sets from a variety of business areas, and working with multiple global teams within the business to analyze and provide solutions as a strategic partner.
YOUR IMPACT- Define data governance processes for the creation of business specific curated datasets that align with global definitions;
- Manage a new team within Global Analytics that will partner with team leadership;
- Develop recommendations and drive improvements to data standards, processes, definitions;
- Partner with team leaders globally by providing analytical insights through accessible business oriented data sets and visual data dashboards;
- Be an active participant in discussion with various global teams and have a voice in the direction of the product;
- Identify insights that will impact the broader business by leveraging relationships with internal stakeholders across multiple functional areas;
- Consult with managers and team leaders and work with them to turn vague or poorly defined issues into clearly addressable problems/questions that are measurable.
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science or equivalent professional experience;
- Highly relevant work experience in analyzing and creating large data sets;
- Excellent SQL skills required;
- Exposure to complex data pipelines, data modeling, and data architecture;
- Experience working with data engineers and data scientists;
- Experience automating data transformations using Airflow, SparkSQL, and Amazon EMR;
- Comfortable with unstructured, fast-moving and constantly evolving high-growth environments;
- Entrepreneurial, digitally savvy, creative and experimental in the approach to problem solving, with exceptional analytical and critical thinking skills;
- Ability to communicate complex issues clearly and concisely to stakeholders in an enticing manner that encourages discussion and action;
- A curious mind who wants to have an impact on protecting the bottom line and optimizing overall revenue in a variety of areas;
- A driven self-starter who thrives in a fast-paced environment and can maintain confidentiality and complex issues;
- Passion for excellence and continuous improvement;
- Strong execution and ability to drive work to completion;
- Excellent English written and verbal communication skills.
If you have any of these, it will be considered as a plus:
- Consulting experience;
- Experience working with data engineers and data scientists;
- Exposure to Python or other scripting languages;
- Exposure to complex data pipelines, data modeling, and data architecture;
- Demonstrated experience in cross-functional collaboration across multiple stakeholders.

In New York, California, Colorado, Massachusetts, and Washington, the annual base salary range for this role is USD $123,648 - $154,560. The base salary range for other locations may vary. Actual base salary will be dependent on geographic location, relevant experience, skills, qualifications and/or other job-related factors.In addition to base salary, this role may also be eligible to participate in either our annual bonus plan or a sales incentive plan, and our performance-based stock option program.

FLEXIBLE SCHEDULE: We give our employees some flexibility to adjust their working hours, letting them adjust their starting time within a range of 3 hours.
