 Working in Energy Management:  

Energy Management is responsible for energy management of all Statkraft’s own and 3rd party assets and consumers in Europe, delivering production planning and access to physical energy markets. We also deliver weather, hydrology, climate and market analysis across Statkraft.

Job Description

As a working student or intern in the Continental Energy Management Platform team, working on the Energy Management Platform, you will work hands on with Energy Management data: from customer data, power production data to financial market data. Since your work is at the heart of our business, you will always have expert support but we also expect you to work independently. There is always room for exploring innovative ideas and business and you will actively contribute to the further development and growth of Statkraft Markets, working closely with various departments in Germany, Norway, Albania, Turkey, and the UK.

  • Learning on the job: Over the course of your assignment, you will become familiar with many aspects of the energy market, technology, and the trading business.
  • Make an impact: Right from the beginning, you will be able to work with senior colleagues to analyse data, develop systems and processes including new data dashboards
  • Creativity: Partner with Product Owners, developers, and management to identify process improvement opportunities, propose system modifications, and devise data governance strategies.
  • Analytics: Perform time series and master-data analysis to assess quality and detect outliers

Qualifications

  • Currently enrolled in a Bachelor Master’s   degree in natural sciences, economics, engineering or computer science
  • Strong mathematical skills to help collect, measure, organize and analyze data
  • Knowledge of at least one programming language (Python, SQL, Oracle, R or MATLAB), preferably Python
  • Very good knowledge and experience in Microsoft Excel, VBA or similar
  • Team player with good communication and cooperation skills
  • Ability to summarize and solve problems in a fast and efficient way
  • Self-motivated with the ability to prioritize, meet deadlines, and manage changing priorities
  • Fluent in English

For working students: The working time can be organized flexibly within the week (on an hourly basis) up to 20 hours per week. 

For interns: The internship is full time for a time period of preferably 4-6 months.

Please be informed that we are looking for applicants who are enrolled at a university during the whole engagement period. Applications can be sent either in English or in German.

Statkraft manages critical infrastructure and services in several countries. The applicant must be eligible for security clearance and authorization.
