Prophesee is the inventor of the world’s most advanced neuromorphic vision systems.

The company developed a breakthrough Event-Based Vision approach to machine vision. This new vision category allows for significant reductions of power, latency, and data processing requirements to reveal what was invisible to traditional frame-based sensors until now.

Prophesee is based in Paris, with local offices in Grenoble, Shanghai, Tokyo and Silicon Valley. The company is driven by a team of more than 100 visionary engineers and holds more than 50 international patents.

Prophesee is looking for a Senior Data Engineer to join their team in Paris or Grenoble.

JOB DESCRIPTION

A significant part of our pipelines includes Machine Learning networks. This requires the permanent acquisition of data for learning and testing purposes.

With the present position opening, Prophesee is looking both to streamline its data acquisition campaigns and to optimize data transmission and storage schemes.

For this purpose, we are looking for an experienced Data Engineer whose mission is to set up the collection and provision of data within the company in collaboration with our experts in Machine Learning and Computer Vision. He/she is also in charge of industrializing and putting data processing into production (for example: provision of dashboards, integration of statistical models) in conjunction with the teams that analyze and process them. This position requires:

  • Great inter-personal skills, to collaborate and communicate with teams in charge of the requirements and teams that are consuming the data.
  • Excellent organization and analytic skills for resourcing and managing the data collection and preparation solutions.
  • Excellent IT skills for designing and implementing the data forwarding and storage.
  • Outstanding rigor and attention to details,

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Project management. Collect needs and requirements from algorithm teams in charge of data processing and write the data acquisition plan. Report activity.
  • Collect data. Develop solution for acquiring data. Recruit the team for executing the data collection campaign. Develop tools for acquiring data and solutions for storing them.
  • Supply data to data users. Automate cleaning, validation and preparation of data. Manage, maintain and document multiple databases. Manage the data life cycle in accordance with the directives set out in the GDPR.

The position does not involve extensive travel but may occasionally require travelling for the purpose of data collection or for meeting customers and prospects.

QUALIFICATION, EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS

Required

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, engineering or other relevant technical field
  • Experience with images in deep learning pipelines is mandatory
  • 5+ years of experience in data engineering and/or IT
  • 3+ years of experience in people/resources management
  • Experience in programming languages (C++, Python,...) and scripting languages
  • Experience in cloud environments
  • Knowledge of at least one Data Base system

Key differentiators

  • Experience of data handling solutions such as ETL/LET
  • Knowledge of HADOOP ecosystem or equivalent
  • Agile development methodology

Language skills: English is mandatory as it is the working language of the company.
