The Role
The Data Team is currently seeking a highly motivated individual to join our Cloud Engineering team as an AWS DevOps Engineer for a permanent position based in our Madrid HQ. This is a hands-on role where you will play a pivotal role in designing, implementing, and managing CICD pipelines specifically tailored for data science projects.
Your tasks will include
- Developing and maintaining CI/CD pipelines for data science projects using AWS services (e.g., AWS CodePipeline, AWS CodeBuild, AWS CodeDeploy) and relevant data processing tools.
- Collaborate with data scientists to understand their requirements for data processing, model training, and deployment, and provide solutions.
- Automate data workflows and integrate data science and machine learning code into production systems.
- Managing and optimizing our cloud infrastructure on AWS, closely monitoring resource usage, and implementing cost-saving measures to ensure efficient utilization of resources and optimal cost-effectiveness.
- Analysing and optimizing various infrastructure components to enhance scalability, improve system response times, and deliver an exceptional user experience.
- Facilitate the creation of development, staging, and production environments for data science projects using Infrastructure as Code (IaC) practices.
- Proactively staying up to date with the latest cloud trends, technologies, and assessing new service offerings to identify potential opportunities to improve our data science lifecycle.
Requirements
- At least 3-5 years of experience in a DevOps role.
- Proficiency in Infrastructure as Code (IaC) practices and tools, such as AWS CloudFormation, Terraform, Ansible, or similar technologies.
- Strong understanding and practical experience with continuous integration and continuous deployment (CI/CD) concepts and tools.
- Understanding of containerization (Docker) and orchestration (Kubernetes) is a plus.
- Experience working with source code management tools such as AWS Code Commit or GitHub.
- Familiarity with AWS security services and best practices for securing infrastructure and applications.
- Proficient in scripting languages (e.g., Python) and familiar with data science workflows.
- A team player with strong communication skills.
- Desire to learn and improve your skills.
