Job Description

In this role you will work within a multidisciplinary global team to discover, define, and design experiences that empower farmers to work more effectively and efficiently by utilizing our data-driven solutions. 

As a Data Science Engagement Lead, you’ll take this partnership to the next level. You’ll be critical to understanding the technical needs of the scientists and turning ideas in to working prototypes or fully scalable solutions. You’ll be experienced in the design and use of AWS environments and languages such as PYTHON.

We all have a critical role to play and add value. Here is how this role will help:

  • Listen and understand the needs & problems of our scientists in Crop Protection R&D
  • Lead the technical design of software solutions
  • Embrace AWS cloud opportunities
  • Develops cloud infrastructure concepts and strategies to ensure use of native cloud and priorities the use of scripting over manual delivery
  • Create and host technical focused communities
  • Engage with suppliers for additional delivery capacity, licence management and support & maintenance
  • Ensure data on our platform is Findable, Accessible, Interoperable and Reusable (FAIR)

Qualifications

Our industry and our function are changing rapidly so we are looking for new team members with a strong desire to develop themselves. You will be a great fit if you have:

  • University Bachelor’s Degree
  • Strong customer focus, communication, teamwork and negotiation skills
  • In depth technical experience, ideally AWS certified
  • Experience implementing data first solutions
  • Fluency in English, additional languages beneficial
  • 3+ years hands on experience of designing and implementing technical solutions
  • 3+ years working in agile teams
  • 2+ years experience designing for cloud, ideally AWS
