YOUR DAILY ADVENTURES WILL INCLUDE:

As a data science principal, you will be involved in key business initiatives. As an expert in data science, you will generate significant business impact directly and indirectly. This is achieved by owning the craft leadership for data science as well as the technical strategy and co-creating and driving the tactical planning of goals with Data Leadership. 

You will identify & reveal the big problems, know or research innovative solutions, translate them into actions and execute or delegate accordingly (having autonomy and lateral leadership). You will have full ownership of your projects, bringing them from the initial ideation phase to implementation together with Engineers, Data Engineers, Data Analysts, Product managers, etc., while guiding teams around you to apply their respective data craft.

You will be an essential part of the next step in the evolution of FREE NOW into a global player in the ride-hailing industry and the establishment of FREE NOW’s role in the future of autonomous vehicle platforms.

TO BE SUCCESSFUL IN THIS ROLE:

• At least 8 years of experience in the field of Data Science
• Expert knowledge of SQL/HQL, Python, R or similar technologies required to develop Data Science projects and expertise on multiple Data Science facets: statistical analysis, probabilistic modelling, and Machine Learning.
• Expert knowledge and experience in one of the following domains: Natural Language Processing, Computer Vision, Time Series Analysis, Information Retrieval, Reinforcement Learning, etc.
• Embody and evangelise best practices for Data Science and proactively raise the overall quality of work produced
• Willing and eager to learn new languages, frameworks, tools, and methodologies (you can tackle anything with a good tutorial)
• Proven ability to take large, scientifically complex projects and break them down into manageable hypotheses and experiments to inform functional specifications and then deliver features in a successful and timely manner
• Able to deliver clear, well-structured and meaningful information to target audience of various stakeholders and knowledge levels
• Highly innovative individual with strong problem-solving skills and solution-oriented, agile mindset.
