Wolters Kluwer is a global provider of professional information, software solutions, and services.We are actively looking for an enthusiastic Business Intelligence Development Lead to join the divisional Corporate Performance & ESG Sales Operations team.
This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced and data-driven Business Intelligence enthusiast who thrives in building insights through data and is not deterred by complexity. Your contributions will be key to increasing operational efficiency adding structure and consistency to the people-processes-technology to empower data-driven decisions, optimize operations, and drive growth.
You will be responsible for leveraging our Business Intelligence and Analytics platforms and tools to acquire, extract, analyze, and visualize data to support the division. You will also be responsible for supporting data-driven decision making and providing strategic insights through reporting and analysis around key performance metrics across different areas of our business.
To be successful in this role you have a blend of both technical and business experience with strong expertise in PowerBI, Salesforce.com, and Snowflake.
You may work in one of our offices in Milan, Rome, Turin, Lucca.
Key Responsibilities:
Strategic Planning: Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand business objectives and develop strategic plans for leveraging business intelligence and analytics to drive growth and improve operational efficiency.
Data Analysis and Visualization: Utilize advanced analytics techniques to extract, analyze, and visualize data from multiple sources, providing actionable insights and recommendations to key stakeholders. Own the end-to-end delivery of data warehouse implementation, from data aggregation and ETL, to consumption and visualization. Streamline and optimize data-related processes and workflows for efficiency.
PowerBI Expertise: Serve as the subject matter expert on PowerBI, leading the design, development, and maintenance of interactive dashboards, reports, and data models that enable users to access and interpret complex data effectively.
Data Governance and Quality Assurance: Establish and enforce data governance policies and standards to ensure the accuracy, reliability, and integrity of data across all systems and processes. Managing the systems backlog by estimating development times for features, facilitating optimal business decision-making and technical prioritization. Verify the development output against initial requirements, ensuring application quality, user experience, and long-term software maintenance ease.
Performance Monitoring and KPI Tracking: Develop and maintain key performance indicators (KPIs) and performance dashboards to monitor business performance, identify trends, and highlight areas for improvement. Establish processes for regular monitoring and reporting on the performance of data initiatives.
Cross-functional Collaboration: Work closely with stakeholders across departments, including Sales, Marketing, and Finance, to understand their data and analytics needs and deliver actionable insights to drive decision-making.
Team Leadership: Take ownership of high priority projects/programs and drive program delivery and stakeholder management. Mentor junior team members by providing guidance, support, and professional development opportunities to foster a high-performing and collaborative work environment.
Continuous Improvement: Stay abreast of industry trends, emerging technologies, and best practices in business intelligence and analytics, proactively identifying opportunities to enhance processes, tools, and methodologies.
Qualifications and skills:
Bachelor's or advanced degree in data science, business analytics, computer science, or a related field
5 + years relevant work experience with PowerBI and sales-related analytical functions
3 + years experience with Salesforce.com, Python, and SQL is required
Experience working with analysts to develop models for forecasting, regression analysis, monitor key metrics, root cause analysis for changes in metrics, building and analyzing dashboards and reports
Experience building key data sets for operational and exploratory analysis, proposing what to build in the roadmap, understanding trends and behaviors and identifying new levers to improve metrics
Experience working with SQL/Dataflows/Snowflake/PowerBI for automating analyses and author pipelines/KPI’s
Proven track record of success in implementing business intelligence strategies and driving insights-driven decision-making processes aligning with best practices and industry standards in PowerBI within a SaaS environment
Demonstrated ability to lead and influence at a senior level, collaborate with diverse stakeholders, and drive results in a dynamic environment with excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Fluency in English. Any additional language is a plus.
