We pride ourselves on bringing the very best talent to empower educators and keep millions of students safe online.  You’ll be joining a talented science and analytics team at a well-established educational technology company.GoGuardian is looking for a motivated Data Engineer III to help plan, maintain, and constantly improve our data warehouse and ETL pipeline.  Data Engineer III focuses on integrating, consolidating, and cleansing data from multiple source systems. This position works closely with the data science and business intelligence teams to prioritize tasks that are important to supporting our product and business units.
What You'll Do Develop new ETL processes to fulfill the data needs of data science and other departmentsUtilize expertise in data modeling, ETL architecture, and report a design for department initiativesProduce detailed documentation including data flow diagrams, logical diagrams, and physical diagrams as neededEnsure the data collection pipeline and data analysis infrastructure meet the needs of the businessAcquire strong knowledge of data structures, analysis, replication, and distributed/ relational data & database mappingAssist with the code review process for purposes of learning, asking new questions, and finding errorsAssist with the development of new scripts, KPIs, and dashboardsAll other duties as assigned.
Who You Are Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience6+ years of experience building/operating systems for data extraction, ingestion, and processing of large data setsExperience with modern data warehousing and visualization tools such as Redshift, Big Query, Snowflake, Azure Synapse, Tableau, Google Analytics, AmplitudeHands-on experience with Python, SQL and NoSQL query language along with data warehouse design and maintenanceExperience working with data orchestration tools such as Airflow, Luigi, AWS Step Functions, SegmentStrong attention to detail, analytical mindset, and highly organizedAbility to work independently within the policies, processes, and procedures defined for the teamDesire to work in a fast-paced startup atmosphere requiring constant learningStrong technical aptitude and demonstrated ability to quickly evaluate and learn new technologiesStrong interpersonal skills, with the ability to work independently and within a team environmentMore experienced/qualified candidates may be eligible for more senior positions.
