We, the BMW Group, offer you an interesting and varied working student occupation in the area of the car body development with Python programming and Machine Learning. Our aim is to improve the workflows and simulations with coding, especially machine learning.

 

What awaits you?

  • You will be working in the simulation team of the car body and contribute to a project in order to improve the workflows and simulations for example with neural networks.
  • You will be developing, implementing and evaluating codes for our workflows regarding the car body, investigating the process and develop codes for different methods.
  • You will be supporting basic tasks (e.g. data analysis or management presentations) and also do own methodologic investigations.

 

What should you bring along?

  • Currently enrolled in a university program in the field of computer sciences, software engineering, (mechanical) engineering or related studies with the focus on programming / machine learning.
  • Second half of bachelor studies or master studies.
  • Strong knowledge and experience in machine learning in Python (PyTorch and TensorFlow) and advantageous Matlab, VBA and TCL.
  • Experience in Software Engineering principles and related concepts (test-driven development, code reviews, Git branching, etc.).
  • Used to work in LINUX and experience in MS Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
  • Basic Knowledge in acoustics / structural dynamics, stochastics and fatigue is advantageous and analytical and creative thinking as well as open-mindedness.
  • Ability to speak and write in English fluently, German is advantageous.
