Junior Data Scientist

KBR's Defense Systems Engineering, Naval Solutions Division, is seeking a Junior Data Scientist to support various programs. In this role, you will support government customers within the Department of Defense (DoD) on various projects to develop solutions incorporating technologies such as machine learning, artificial intelligence (ML/AI), robotic process automation (RPA), and cloud infrastructure.  You will be part of a diverse team of developers, data scientists, and technology experts to solve complex problems. Visa sponsorship is not offered for this position.

Responsibilities:

• Responsible for assisting in the collection and analysis of statistics and information from multiple sources to identify trends in order to gain maximum insight that can give the company a competitive advantage.
• Applies and integrates statistical, mathematical, predictive modeling and business analysis skills to manipulate complex high-volume data from a variety of sources.

Basic Qualifications:

Citizenship & Clearance: Must be a US Citizen. Must be able to obtain and maintain a DOD Secret Clearance.
Education: Bachelor's Degree in a Technical Discipline such as Mathematics, Engineering, Data Science, etc.

Experience: 0-2 years of relevant technical/data science experience

Technical Expertise/Skills: Experience using various software/tools in programming (ie. Python, R, MATLAB, SQL), ML Frameworks & Statistics (ie PyTorch, Spark ML, statsmodels, regression, clustering, hypothesis testing). Data Analysis (ie NumPy, Pandas, Scikit-Learn), Data Visualization (ie Tableau, Sphinx, GIMP) ​ & DevOps (ie Git, GitLab, GitHub), etc.

Preferred Qualifications:

Completion of or current Intern with KBR in a Data Science/related capacity
