The CDC Foundation’s Data Analyst, Analytics & Visualization provides strategic insight support to the Advancement team to drive achievement of fundraising and organizational goals. Data Analyst, Analytics & Visualization will utilize Salesforce to perform tasks associated with data integrity and maintenance, data analytics, reporting, dashboard development, campaign tracking and online giving and data quality control for events.Reporting to the Senior Director of Advancement Operations, the Data Analyst, Analytics & Visualization provides data/information management, data analysis, system auditing and compliance, formulation and implementation of data policies, consulting, procedures development, user documentation, data load management and internal departmental training.This position has an end date of June 30, 2026 and can be hybrid or fully remote reporting to the Atlanta, GA headquarters office.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement effective and strategic analytical solutions to enable data driven decisions for Advancement strategy/activity.
  • Evaluate and present information in a manner that will facilitate client understanding of the results and impacts.
  • Demonstrated ability to effectively gather requirements, probe for deeper understanding, and translate deep technical concepts to non-technical as well as technical stakeholders.
  • Build/review complex visualization solutions, data files/extracts and deliver insights.
  • Develop, implement, enhance and maintain existing Data visualization solutions.
  • Perform complex querying, data exploration, manipulation and evaluation.
  • Generate relevant statistical and analytical reports that drive Advancement’s continuous improvement efforts. Provide overall database analysis and development of reports and dashboards to track key metrics and identify trends.
  • Manage donor and organizational input on how newly acquired data should be stored in the database to best meet user needs and be consistent with existing data. Consult with clients and recommend and/or approve acquisition of new technology solutions to improve or automate existing processes.
  • Collaborate with other departments, including IT, Communications, Finance and Programs, to determine and meet their data integrity, reporting and analysis needs.
  • Self-motivated professional who can operate independently and produce reporting, analytics and trend reporting.
  • Become familiar with and maintain a thorough working knowledge of the Foundation’s and CDC’s programs and activities.
  • Participate in staff activities, projects and assignments and assume other duties as assigned.
  • Must adhere to the Code of Ethical Principles of the Association of Fund Raising Professionals (AFP). Must be conversant in, and stay current with, Council for Advancement and Support of Education (CASE) standards, IRS regulations and financial standards as it pertains to charitable giving.

Qualifications and Skills

  • Qualified candidates will have a Bachelor’s degree in a related field, as well as be a professional with a minimum of five years non-profit experience with a focus on data analysis, data integrity and maintenance and reporting using a constituent relationship management system.
  • Salesforce NPSP, Salesforce Marketing Cloud Intelligence Reports and Tableau experience preferred.
  • Strong proficiency to manage and manipulate data in Excel and Tableau and develop/maintain data visualizations, reports, power-points, dashboards and discussion points that convey information useful for decision making by various stakeholder groups.
  • Possesses ability to analyze assessment data and conduct descriptive and inferential analysis to develop detailed reports and dashboards
  • Ability to brief senior leadership on data visualization findings to provide recommendations and inform decision making by leadership.
  • Strong management, planning and project management skills related to setting and monitoring goals, developing plans and timelines and measuring success.
  • Results-oriented, team player, collaborative and self-motivated. Able to work with multiple departments to propel organizational mission forward through innovation and initiative.
  • Natural curiosity with strong analytical, problem-solving and organizational skills.
  • Flexibility with a proven ability to handle changing business needs, multiple priorities and deadlines with attention to detail. Accountability for meeting goals, objectives and deadlines with a proactive attitude and approach to work.
  • Exceptional inter-personal, verbal and written communication skills with the ability to train and coach staff on data management best practices.
  • Discretion in handling confidential information relating to the giving history and backgrounds of donors/prospects
