Data Engineer

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Data Engineer to join our dynamic team. In this role, you will be responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining data pipelines using Microsoft Azure Data Factory, ensuring efficient ETL processes. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand data requirements and translate them into effective data solutions, leveraging Microsoft Synapse Analytics. Your expertise will be crucial in optimizing data storage and retrieval processes, monitoring and troubleshooting data pipelines, and ensuring adherence to data security, compliance, and governance best practices. Responsibilities:

• Design, develop, and maintain data pipelines using Microsoft Azure Data Factory, ensuring efficient data extraction, transformation, and loading (ETL) processes.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand data requirements and translate them into effective data solutions.
• Implement data integration solutions using Microsoft Synapse Analytics (formerly known as SQL Data Warehouse).
• Optimize data storage and retrieval processes for performance and cost-effectiveness.
• Monitor and troubleshoot data pipelines, addressing any issues promptly to minimize downtime.
• Collaborate with analysts to provide them with clean, structured data for analysis and reporting.
• Ensure data security, compliance, and governance best practices are followed.
• Stay up-to-date with the latest trends and technologies in data engineering and contribute to the evolution of our data architecture. 

To be successful in this role, you will have:

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field (or equivalent experience).
• Proven experience working with Microsoft Azure services, particularly Azure Data Factory and Azure Synapse Analytics.
• Strong proficiency in SQL, ETL processes, and data modelling.
• Experience with data warehousing concepts and practices.
• Proficiency in at least one programming language (e.g., Python, Java) for scripting and automation.
• Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
• Familiarity with data governance, security, and compliance standards.
• Experience engineering solutions to be used in a Power BI environment.
• Azure certifications (e.g., Microsoft Certified: Azure Data Engineer) are a plus
