Senior Data Scientist - NLP & Deep Learning

The Role:

Are you an enthusiastic Data Scientist eager to expand your expertise in Natural Language Processing (NLP) and Deep Learning, and take ownership of improving existing solutions? We're seeking a talented individual to join our growing team and contribute to exciting projects that leverage the power of text data. You will collaborate with engineers, product managers, and other data scientists to develop data-driven solutions that solve real-world business problems, while also actively seeking ways to enhance current approaches.

Responsibilities:

• Work closely with senior data scientists to understand NLP and Deep Learning use cases relevant to our business.
• Critically analyze existing NLP pipelines and models, identifying potential areas for improvement.
• Proactively propose and champion innovative ideas to optimize performance, accuracy, or efficiency.
• Participate in data exploration and analysis of large text datasets to identify patterns and trends.
• Assist with data pre-processing tasks like text cleaning, normalization, and feature engineering.
• Implement and fine-tune pre-trained NLP models for tasks like text classification, sentiment analysis, or named entity recognition (NER) using libraries like spaCy or NLTK.
• Take ownership of model development and improvement iterations, leading the process of testing and refining solutions.
• Evaluate model performance using appropriate metrics and visualize results to communicate findings effectively.
• Stay up-to-date on advancements in NLP and Deep Learning and actively learn from senior team members.
• Contribute to the development and documentation of NLP pipelines and models.

Qualifications:

• Overall 8+ years of experience
• Master’s degree in computer science, Statistics, Linguistics, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
• 5 years of experience in a data science role with experience in NLP and Deep Learning concepts.
• Strong programming skills in Python and familiarity with data manipulation libraries like Pandas.
• Basic understanding of deep learning frameworks like TensorFlow or PyTorch (a plus).
• Excellent communication, collaboration, and problem-solving skills.
• A demonstrated ability to think critically and propose innovative solutions.
• A willingness to learn and grow in the field of NLP and Deep Learning.
• The confidence to take ownership of projects and lead improvement initiatives.
