  • Background in Energy domain
  • Experienced in building and delivering regulatory reports that require attention to detail
  • Experienced in building and managing data tables of high data quality
  • You have a wealth of experience in business insights and data analytics (exploratory and descriptive analysis).
  • You are routinely hands-on with Advanced SQL (analytical functions, window functions, pivots) and data visualisation tools. 
  • You’re adept at creating and shaping datasets (as opposed to making use of prepared data). Experience with data modelling tools such as Dataform or dbt would be highly advantageous.
  • You’re used to managing time to produce high-quality work to tight deadlines.
  • Experience with BQ / GCP / Looker / Terraform will be beneficial.
  • You’re used to working within a diverse team spanning business leaders, product managers, software engineers and data scientists.
  • Excellent communication skills (particularly in written content production);
  • Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage own time and prioritise tasks;
  • Problem-solving skills: Positive approach to identifying and resolving data issues 
  • Strong attention to detail, excellent numeracy understanding with strong emphasis on financials

This is a hybrid role working from one of our London hubs 2 days per week.

Energy is at the heart of our customer proposition at Utility Warehouse and we aim to deliver an excellent service to each and every one of our members. To help us achieve this, our operations team supports and problem-solving solutions for our customers, ensuring they have accurate monthly bills and the efficiency of our back office processes.

The role will actively engage the energy business to provide data analyst services.

  • Work with large volumes of data to draw out business insights, highlight opportunities, and spot issues and risks;
  • Build reporting and dashboard solutions using tools such as Data Studio, Google Sheets, Looker and QlikSense; 

What you’ll do

  • Engage energy industry teams to understand their data requirements;
  • Ensure accurate and timely collection of data 
  • Maintain and manage large datasets, ensuring integrity and security
  • Identify data sources; analyse the data; and build a solution using the various tools we have access to (e.g. google sheets, data studio)
  • Working collaboratively with the rest of the business for testing the reports/ dashboards built;
  • Provide insight and commentary on the data trends;
  • Track changes to our gas and electricity portfolio using a variety of factors including; a mix of payment methods, consumption levels, customer demographics and any other relevant factors;
  • Analyse consumer patterns 
  • Use tools and data visualisation techniques to present insights
  • Respond to regulators (Ofgem, Citizens advice, etc) requests for information;
  • Adhere to the regulatory data requests – enacting a review and sign-off process;
  • Building a deep knowledge of energy data, systems, and tools for efficient solution design
  • Represent Energy’s data requirements to the Data and Insights team in Technology 
  • Build cohesive data strategies
  • Communicate complex data findings to non-technical stakeholders clearly and concisely.
  • Propose and implement improvements to data collection, analysis and reporting processes
  • Identify opportunities for automation and efficiency gains
