Clinical Research Data Developer and Grants Manager  


Venesco, LLC is looking for a candidate who can fulfill the requirements of a Clinical Research Data Developer and a Grants Manager for the Defense Health Agency in San Diego.


In this role you will fulfill two distinct positions with the following responsibilities:

  

Clinical Research Data Developer/Manager (0.5 FTE)

  • 5.1.1.1  Manages all aspects of clinical database design and reporting. 
  • 5.1.1.2  Establishes and maintains policies and procedures for gathering, analyzing, and reporting clinical data. 
  • 5.1.1.3  Standardizes data management procedures and documents departmental operating procedures. 
  • 5.1.1.4  Prepare data analysis listings and activity, performance, or progress reports.
  • 5.1.1.5  Process clinical data including receipt, entry, verification, or filing of information.
  • 5.1.1.6  Prepare appropriate formatting to datasets as requested.
  • 5.1.1.7  Design, manage, and validate clinical databases and large data repositories including designing or testing logic checks.
  • 5.1.1.8  Design forms for receiving, processing, and tracking data.
  • 5.1.1.9  Develop or select specific software programs for various research scenarios.
  • 5.1.1.10  Write work instruction manuals, data capture guidelines, or standard operating procedures.
  • 5.1.1.11  Train staff on technical procedures or software program usage.
  • 5.1.1.12  Read technical literature and participate in continuing education or professional associations to maintain awareness of current database technology and best practices. 
  • 5.1.1.13  Provide support and information to functional areas as related to research.
  • 5.1.1.14  Evaluate processes and technologies and suggest revisions to increase productivity and efficiency.
  • 5.1.1.15  Develop technical specifications for data management programming and communicate needs to information technology staff.
  • 5.1.1.16  Contribute to the compilation, organization, and production of protocols, clinical study reports, regulatory submissions, or other documentation.
  • 5.1.1.17  Monitor work productivity or quality to ensure compliance with standard operating procedures.
  • 5.1.1.18  Generate data queries based on validation checks or errors and omissions identified during data entry to resolve identified problems.
  • 5.1.1.19  Confer with end users to define or implement clinical system requirements such as data release formats, delivery schedules, and testing protocols.
  • 5.1.1.20  Develop project-specific data management plans that address areas such as data coding, reporting, or transfer, database locks, and workflow processes.
  • 5.1.1.21  Compile NMCSD clinical data from a variety of sources.


Clinical Research Grants Manager (0.5 FTE)

  • 5.1.2.1  Design grant programs.
  • 5.1.2.2  Determine funding needs.
  • 5.1.2.3  Research funding opportunities and develop and respond to grant applications.
  • 5.1.2.4 Write, review, submit, and manage grant proposals.
  • 5.1.2.5  Furnish prospective funders with supporting documents.
  • 5.1.2.6  Develop grant reports.
  • 5.1.2.7  Coordinate, educate, and engage with grant writers.
  • 5.1.2.8  Identify grant support agencies.
  • 5.1.2.9  Optimize the grant administration process.
  • 5.1.2.10  Manage timelines and deliverables.
  • 5.1.2.11  Prepare and monitor budgets.
  • 5.1.2.12  Track grant applications.
  • 5.1.2.13  Oversee portfolio of multiple grant submissions.



Requirements

Clinical Research Data Developer/Manager (0.5 FTE)

  • 5.2.2.1.1 A four-year baccalaureate degree is required health informatics, computer science, computer engineering, statistics, business administration, or equivalent field.
  • 5.2.2.1.2  2+ years of data developing/managing experience.
  • 5.2.2.1.3  Methodical and strategic thinking.
  • 5.2.2.1.4 Project management skills.
  • 5.2.2.1.5 Strong writing skills.
  • 5.2.2.1.6 Computer literacy.
  • 5.2.2.1.7 Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • 5.2.2.1.8 Ability to meet deadlines.

Clinical Research Grants Manager (0.5 FTE)

  • 5.2.2.2.1  Graduate degree is required. A focus in business administration or equivalent is preferred.
  • 5.2.2.2.2  Methodical and strategic thinking.
  • 5.2.2.2.3  Project management skills
  • 5.2.2.2.4  Budgeting and accounting experience.
  • 5.2.2.2.5  Computer literacy.
  • 5.2.2.2.6  Knowledge of auditing policies.
  • 5.2.2.2.7  Strong writing skills.
  • 5.2.2.2.8.  2+ years of grant writing experience.
  • 5.2.2.2.9  History of successful grant applications.
  • 5.2.2.2.10  Proficient with measuring and reaching income goals.
  • 5.2.2.2.11  Proficient with MS Office Word and Excel.
  • 5.2.2.2.12  Excellent knowledge of fundraising information sources.
  • 5.2.2.2.12  Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • 5.2.2.2.13  Ability to meet deadlines.
