A Data Engineer is responsible for working with business leaders and data analysts in analyzing structural requirements for, migrating data from legacy systems, and designing conceptual and logical data models. They play a critical role in ensuring that an organization’s data architecture aligns with its business needs.

As a Data Engineer at Community Health Systems, you’ll play a vital role in supporting our purpose to help people get well and live healthier by providing safe, quality healthcare, building enduring relationships with our patients, and providing value for the people and communities we serve. Required:

  • Three (3) or more years of experience as a Data Engineer or similar role
  • Two (2) or more years of experience in Oracle Fusion
  • Experience working in Google Cloud Platform (GCP)
  • Extract, Transform and Load (ETL) skills
  • Experience with relevant programming languages such as SQL, Python, R, etc.
  • Excellent communication and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong computer skills
  • Education: Bachelor’s Degree in computer science, information technology or related field.

Preferred:

  • Google Suite
  • Proficiency with industry standard Business Intelligence tools such as Tableau, MS Power BI SAP Business Objects, Looker, etc.
  • Experience working in Google Looker Studio
  • Experience with Looker Platform

About the Opportunity:

  • Database Solution Development
    • Design and develop data infrastructure, including databases, data warehouses, and data lakes.
    • Maintain and oversee data governance to include defining data provided.
    • Install and configure information systems to manage data effectively.
  • Structural Requirements Analysis
    • Collaborate with stakeholders to understand business requirements.
    • Analyze and define the structural needs for new software applications.
  • Data Migration
    • Migrate data from legacy systems to modern platforms.
    • Ensure data integrity during the migration process.
  • Conceptual and Logical Data Models
    • Create high-level designs based on strategic data requirements.
    • Develop conceptual and logical models to represent data relationships.
  • Data Security and Compliance
    • Implement security measures to protect sensitive data.
    • Ensure compliance with data privacy regulations.
  • Documentation and Communication
    • Maintain comprehensive documentation of data architecture.
    • Communicate technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
